Harrasment and threatning call by Vodafone
After six months of disconnection of Mobile No. 9899990398, i received a threating call from Delhi Police Commisioner on the 3rd December afternoon, that he has an arrest warrant in my name and will come to arrest me at 6pm. He gave me the
number of an Advocate J.R. Mishra 9453134985. he asked me to call him and try to settle the matter or else he will get the cops in front of my home in the evening. i was petrified and terrified and fainted at the very first thought of it.
When my colleagues in office called the advocate, he asked to pay an amount of 2510/- immidiately and send across a mail with the bill receipt to address manojsharma4@vodafone.com
i requested for a dissconnection of my number on the 2nd of June as i got a job in Bangalore and had to move from Delhi. My account also showed a bill plan change which i never requested for. they made me pay 2510/- against an outstanding of 2380/-(i got to know this when i went at Vodafone and checked my account)
I am 21years old and a Low BP patient, who is staying alone in Bangalore without family for the first time in my entire life. the kind of threatening that they gave me could taken life out of me. I in the past six months never received any reminder of any outstanding bill . because i cleared all the payments before getting the number dissconneted(they dont dissconnet without clearing the dues!!!) . my current number is 09902554079, i request you to take some action, as i am still not over the whole senario. you can understand how it must have been for a person who has never even seen a police station apart from in movies.

am madhu. my mobile no,971962556whitch billed 1600.last mounth. then the agnest payment 1000 has been submit the mr. AMIT TYAGI WHITCH MO NO.9759222000 ,093583193303 WHO has worked in the ROORKEE circle.but problem is that the above payment 1000 was not submit in my account.amit tyagi has been dissappear from roorkee.and my mobile become out of service.after this i talk to vodafone billing officer MR VISHAL

Hi Garima,
I was searching something on Google and came across your complaint. It was pretty stupid of you to believe on such calls. Do you think Delhi Police Commissioner has time to call you for this petite matter. These Vodafone/Relaince/Idea/etc. people are creeps and hire illiterate gundas for making these types of calls. They don't have even this much sense how to treat with different classes of customers. I agree that there are many defaulters when comes to phone bill payments, but they must have at least this much sense that to whom they are dealing with. Rather than training their staff on handling customer requests on time and maintaining their software systems, these service providers have opted an easy way of recovery by making these types of calls. Moreover, this is illegal to hire gundas and to threaten someone like this. Again, it was highly stupid on your part to pay the bill that was never owed to you. Never give attention to these type of calls, specially when caller doesn't have any proof of what he/she is saying. Come on we are living in free and democratic nation and should know at least this much legalities. So, don't bother yourself further on this matter.

Threatening is the Vodafone way – But we want conversion from Postpaid to Prepaid
(Harassment by Vodafone in converting post-paid to pre-paid connection)
Threatening is vodafone’s usual way if you approach them with a complaint or request. They will not hear what bad experience you have gone through with them. They will just look at the last bill according to them, and will retort that they are going to send eminent people to your house to get the bills collected whatsoever, and boast that you won’t be able to resist them as they are lot more mightier than you can even imagine!
We Indians need to prove them wrong.
As far as I know, vodafone is the only mobile service provider in India who doesn’t allow conversion from post-paid to pre-paid. Once you are in their trap of post paid, you either have to keep paying the rent Or just discontinue the service to escape their monkey fist, threatening and litigations.
Mine is a very old Vodafone postpaid number and I don’t want to loose that number as it is circulated to so many key people. But when the Vodafone call center guys called me up and threatened to send their eminent people to get the bills collected, I wanted to switch from post paid to pr-paid. That way, they will have their damn money and I don’t have to speak to their henchmen again. While the talks were on, they again threatened me and taken steps for initiating legal proceedings against me. General Manager – Legal ( Yunus H Ahamed) yunus.ahamed@vodafone.com & Senior Manager – Legal (Lokesh Mahalingappa ) lokesh.mahalingappa@vodafone.com have sent me legal notice after Lokesh Mahalingappa told that it is possible to get my same old number in pre-paid through a convoluted process. I walked into the Vodafone office at Indiranagar and they bluntly said it is absolutely not possible to have my same old number in pre-paid whatsoever. Multiple times I have expressed written willingness to talk to them rather than mails, and asked them their phone number, but they never bothered speak to me. Now they are going back on their promise and harassing me.
We need to expose this rotten and unethical tactics of Vodafone, for plundering money from the larger population in India. I will fight this out in all the legal forums in every possible way. It is a public need to have the facility to convert post paid to pre-paid especially in this bad economic conditions, and people still need to stay connected, when there is maximum number of job losses, to help them move on in their modest life.
We need to make sure that Vodafone don’t fool our people in India anymore. At a minimum rent of Rs.200/- per month, even if one make only one call, people in India are intelligent enough to multiply the amount with the number of unfortunate postpaid customers to calculate the amount Vodafone guys are looting so freely.
All other mobile service providers in our county have the facility to switch from post-paid to pre-paid and that too very easily within minutes. How can Vodafone – an alien - insist that a poor man in India should continue paying rent when he doesn’t have a job, or simply because he doesn’t want the facilities as it is too costly for the pocket/ affecting peace of mind due to the threats? An incoming number is the most needed one for a person who has lost job. Let them take the money from those who actually need the postpaid facility.

Dear Garima, This case is little confusing. How could any Commissioner/Vodafone-poeple get your new mobile number after 6 months????? Did u ever worked in Vodafone Call center. In that case the Commissioner who called you is one of your friends/enemies ...

I am kuldeep Sharma, using vodafone no.9899211499 for the last around 1.6 years..everymonth i am paying average bill of 1000 rupees & late payment fee too ..i don't have any problem with late payment fee, but i am paying this still everytime u stop may outgoing..i am paying late coz i gets my salary on 7 & i pays by 8th of every month..why u doing so...this is not done that u ll charge late fee & will deactivate my out going...this time 1 pre recorded msg has been set that waste my time before every outgoing call..remove this now or loose ypur 1 customer who have 4 vodafone connections...i ll break the all 4 sim cards & will start to use some another companies connection..i alresdy have all companies connection..
NOw u decide what to do...U have 5 hours to take any action..

Well well...the same case happened with me too today.
I defaulted their bill for around 5-6 months as I changed my job and came down to bangalore and then abroad for 3 months.
I got a call from Delhi no. 01132662971 by the name of some Rajveer Chodhary. He said he had warrant against my name for some fraud done in Delhi. He already had my previous employer name and address and my permanent residence address along with my current details...like where I am working and in which compnay. Most interestingly how the hell he got my no. as I recently changed my no. to reliance and didn't give that no. to anyone.
Anyways he gave me some Sanjay Jain's no. in delhi who is an advocate and told to call him and get details.The no. for Sanjay Jain is 9015476797.
I called that guy up and he said that Vodafone has lodged a case against me for non payment of bill amounting to 3940/- and if I really do not want to be dragged in court and all then I should immediately pay up the bill so that he can withdraw the case out of court.
I was unanswerable as it was my mistake to have not paid the bill but I told him that I was abroad from 3-4 months so I could not setlle the bills. Anyways I paid the outstanding amount and sent him the printscreen of the receipt to adv.jainsanjay@gmail.com
What is bugging me is that howcome they came to know my new no. which I have recently changed and they had all my details like father's name, address, name and address of previous employer and current employer as well...
After that I called that police station from some other number just to check whether it was an actual police stn or not. Everytime he receives and says "Delhi Police"...
So guys any idea as to whats going on.

My vodafone number is 8052288139 & these vodafone UP east circle has made wrong bills.. for internet, calls, msg. though I could not use internet services, It was always still they are asking me to pay 2300 rs for this bull shit services. no customer care exective helps, no vodafone store.
I put the request to port my number to idea & paid some amount of money to get into idea but after 15 days I got a msg from vodafone that I cant port my number. Why Why..
Please help.. all wrong charges, no good services.
