Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations [Cisce] — promotion of classes till class 8 has not been accepted in some school among covid crisis

Address:17/1, Canal Street Road, Kolkata-700014

Through the columns of your esteemed organisation, i wish to share my concern regarding the promotion of students of icse board till class 8.

Due to the covid crisis, your organisation has taken the decision of promoting all the students from class 1 to class 8. This has been publicised in news as well as in the website. But i want to bring you to a further attention that there is a well renowned icse school in kolkata, named "mahavir institute of education and research" (17/1, canal street road, kolkata-700014) which is not abiding the instructions mentioned by the organization. This particular school had started online classes from 24th april, 2020 after the organization's guidelines came publicly in news. Due to the lockdown issue, they had not cleared any report card of the final examination that was held on the first week of march. After your notice, they started the classes without any results and promoted them to the next class with new section through online portal. The students were continuing the classes regularly since 2 months. However, before 2 days after the unlock-1 started, they announced the results offline. Some of the students report card is showing that they have been failed and is not promoted to new classes. After further asking from school authority, we got to know that the final decision of the class promotion is clearly mentioned in the report card. No changes will be possible, which means that some students who failed till class 8 are demoted to their previous classes. The school authorities are not listening to anyone and they are claiming that those students must go to their previous classes as they have failed.
I just want to know, even after the guideline from your organization, why is it so? The students has been literally harassed through this process. Firstly they did their new class's all online works and now they are told to get back to their previous classes? I want to complain to your organization regarding this particular school to take strict action as necessary. Its a mental harassment to students. I request you to please take further action.
