[Resolved]  Croma — Mis selling and cheating at croma - prabhadevi

I visited the CROMA Prabhadevi store (Century mills) and inquired for a Samsung S6 phone on March 14th, 2016. I spoke to a executive Rohit. Though the prices that CROMA quoted was substantially higher than the other competitors, I requested for a discount. He bluntly refused. I then asked him incase if there is a display phone that is available which they would want to sell at lower rate. He immediately showed me a Gold color S6 which had only 8 months warranty. However he stated that since he is selling at a discount, he would want to take an approval and hence requested time till the evening. He promised that he would get back to me. Also during our discussions he stated that the model is a display model and hence can be sold at a discount of 10-15%. He also agreed on a tradein of Rs 5000 on my old Samsung note 3 neo.

I waited till the day, he did not call. I again went to the outlet on 15th March 2016 seeking a clarification. Rohit was not available. I took his number and called him, he bluntly stated that he was busy and hence forgot. I met up Abhishek. I explained the situation to him and he seemed absolutely indifferent to the situation. He bluntly told me that Rohit would come at 1pm and asked me to wait till he speaks to someone and gets a clarity on discount. He then confirmed that he cannot offer a discount however can extend the warranty. I insisted that this was not communicated to me earlier and hence settled on a discount. I told him that that was the 2nd time I had come to the store along with the old phone and the accessories to get a trade off. He did not budge. I then asked him to speak to his senior and get back to me with a discount. He then reluctantly offered me a 5 % off on my surprise, he then stated that as a favor he is offering me another 1% off. He then told me that the phone was initially sold to a customer who had used it for 2 days however since the phone had some issues, he escalated the matter and got it returned. The same phone was offered to me by them hiding all these facts!

This brings me to a conclusion that is CROMA (a TATA enterprise) have started using all these gimmiks to gain and cheat customers. A used phone is being sold as display phone. That too a discount of 5% is offered when the warranty has been used by 4 months.

Sir, I write this mail to highlight the gross mis counduct and negligence happening at stores. When I insisted to Abhishek and Rohit, that I would escalate the matter, they had a carefree attitude and asked me to do so. Abhiskek and Rohit have been one of the worst sales staff I have ever come across!

All these clearly brings me to a conclusion that CROMA as a brand cannot be now trusted since they sell outdated and used products to their customers.

A very disappointing and displeasing site! No return.
