Inhuman behavior of office in charge (Mr S Jayaker (Retd)- Mob: [protected]) of ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur, Tamilnadu Dear Sir, My Father Mr Karuppasamy is 70 years old, Rank- Naik, Regd No. CN 00 92005, Service No. 13902543 This is to bring in your kind notice to the fact that My Father is now suffering Cancer and undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, Madurai, Tamilnadu My Father is a Stroke patient and chronic Kidney patient and he used to go ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur, Tamilnadu for treatment and getting medicines from there. During July 2014, My Father was suffering Kidney stone problem and his urea and creatine level was high. We went to ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur for treatment and they gave some medicines and even after repeated requests, they did refer for taking treatment from ECHS approved hospitals. Since he was suffering severely, we finally admitted him at Private Kidney hospital, Madurai (more than 100 Kms from our native place). For which, we spent about 1 Lakh Rupees. During the period of December 2015, he was having wheezing problem and could not breath properly. For this, we went to ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur and consulted doctor. He checked my Father and gave injections for wheezing with medicines. Due to non-curable, we visited every week (about 40 kms from our native place) to ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur till second week of February 2015 and doctor did same thing as he had done earlier. We were keeping on requesting doctor to refer any major ECHS approved hospital. Doctor understood his condition and asked us to meet office in charge Mr Jayaker. When we met him at his office and explained him that we have been coming for the last 10 weeks and showed my Father’s condition. Office in charge Mr Jayaker did not allow us to explain and he shouted us and treated us a third rate. We begged him to give permission. Despite of our repeated requests, he replied that they can issue a letter only when there is emergency case. It means that they will issue letter only one going to the last stage of his life till we have to wait or take treatment. We felt very bad about his inhuman behavior and left from there. Day by day his health condition got worsen and was difficult to breath. Finally, we took him to one private hospital at Madurai on 14.02.2015 and admitted. We consulted Pulmonology and he asked us to take Scan for Neck and Chest for my Father. In the scan, it was seen that cancer tumor at neck and suggested to take biopsy. In the hospital, ENT surgeon did an emergency operation of Tracheotomy for breathing and treatment was done for removing Mucus (Khapam) using suction machine. In the biopsy result, it was diagnosed that the neck tumor is cancer and doctor asked us to go some big hospital. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks for treatment of wheezing problem and we spent medical expenses is around Rs 50, 000/-. On 21.02.15, we took him to ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur and consulted doctor. After seeing him and his scan report, they forwarded to ECHS approved hospital, Apollo Hospital, Madurai, Tamilnadu. We went to Apollo Hospital and admitted him an emergency basis and treatment was gone for various problems including cancer. Please note that because of office in charge Mr Jayaker’s careless and adamant, we lost around 2 ½ months for admission at ECHS approved hospital Since he was not able to take food orally (mouth), an emergency operation was done at stomach and food feeding being given through tube. After 12 days, we were told that approved admission period is over and asked us either to discharge or to get extension from ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur. From this day onwards our bad day starts. Apollo doctor gave letter and stated that the patient is undergoing treatment for Pulmonology and food feeding to stomach through tube and he needs further 30 days extension for competing his full treatment including Radiotherapy and Heamotherphy. Based on Apollo doctor’s recommendation, we went to ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur and met office in charge Mr Jayaker. From first seeing on wards, he shouted and scolded us and treated rough and tough. Some of the staffs and patients came to there and recommended. Because of this, he finally gave 10 days extension. And I think that was the biggest mistake of there life these ECHS people they are really inhuman towards patient as if they are providing facilities from there own pockets. Govt provides these facilities to ex serviceman to make their life little easier but the people those who are working there like office in charge Mr Jayaker they behave like god and we are on mercy of these people. After completing 10 days extension, Apollo doctor gave letter and strongly recommended and stating that the patient is still undergoing treatment and has Tracheotomy and food feeding to stomach through tube and he needs further days extension. We went ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur and asked office in charge Mr Jayaker for extension. But he behaved like as usual. He told that you come on tomorrow. When we went next day, he shouted and asked us to next day. Because our Father’s critical problem, we begged him to give extension. But he denied and as per ECHS doctor’s suggestion, he asked us to bring patient to ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur from Apollo Hospital, Madurai (around 80 kms). Because of this, we got discharge and doctor stated in the discharge summary that the treatment is not completed and patient needs 30 days for competing his full treatment including Radiotherapy and Heamotherphy. We took him through Ambulance to ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur. After reviewing ECHS doctor, he finally approved for 12 days. We had a discussion with him and informed that I can give only this much and shouted that if you need further, you can admit other hospital and pay from your pockets. After hearing his reply, we were heartbroken and felt very much upset & got emotional and told that we will complain against you on your non-sense reply. On this, he shouted and told that you can complain anywhere and I don’t bother and I have seen many people like you. During this conversion, many patients came to us and expressed their feelings that they had also suffered and asked us to give complain against him. From this, his attitude (office in charge Mr Jayaker) and behavior with patients is worst. It is known that ECHS people have suffered and no body is coming forward to give complain against him We were also told that the office in charge Mr Jayaker has made corruption at ECHS Polyclinic, Virudhunagar, where he was working earlier, for purchasing medicines. Here, ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur, he gives favoritism to his relatives and friends at his native. We were also told that he demands money for giving permission for admission of hospital. For Heamotherphy approval, when we gave letter to him, he told that it is to be got approved by ECHS Thiruvanthapuram and asked us to call after 3 days. When we call, he informed that the letter has been forwarded to ECHS Bangalore from ECHS Thiruvanthapuram for higher approval and asked us to call/come after 10 days. After 10 days, we went to ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur and enquired him about approval. He told that when they get and it will be given to you. For speedy action, we requested him to make a follow up with ECHS Bangalore. For this, he shouted and replied that that is not his duty. We asked him to give ECHS Bangalore address/phone number. He replied irresponsibly against our request. It is noted that his reply on this is worst and he does not understand other’s problems and feelings In ECHS Polyclinic, Srivilliputtur, doctors and staffs are good and helpful and because of his nature and behavior, they are afraid of doing/recommending to patients and they are getting bad name from Public (ECHS Patients) It is painful to express our feelings that he shuttled us here and there and used us very nasty words. Because of this, we lost our time, money and patience. As he told, he is having power; I know no action will be taken immediately against him for misbehaving with the patient. So, we tried to contact some toll free numbers and no response on this. I dint mean to tell all are wrong, may be am unlucky. WORST EXPERIENCE OF ALL MY LIFE! I would like to request that the concerned authority to take an action against him or warning him, so that people like us don’t have to through these kind of problems and situations again Would be waiting for your revert on the same Thanks & regards SK Ganesan S/o Karuppasamy
