Client: Reliance Life Insurance
I have received calls recently from Reliance Insurance Representiative for insurance agent commission claim. These people having all the details of my policy and were fooling us by saying they are from Reliance Insuarnce department.
They said, ~1.78 Lakhs amount is claimed on my insurance by the agent and they would need my consent before they release the amount. If required, i can stop the agent and divert all the amount to my account by chaging agent code with my code.
And to do so, they raised complaint in GBIC and given some dummy complaint number i.e. TS/[protected]@gbic.181. Later GBIC person called me and was expected to guide me how to generate customer code and claim the amount. But to my surprise he started seeking details which were irrelevent to the insurance claim. When I refused to share details, he said he will block my insurance claim amount or may release it to agent.
After heated argument for about 1 min, he hung the call...
I cought them red-handed by altering the registered complaint number when they asked me to confirm the complaint number. Straigthaway knew its a fraud call but pretended to be like naive to understand upto what extent they will drag me.
I tried calling reliance insurance customer care to understand how these people have all my details and how reliance insuarnce company can leak such secured information but as expected nobody answered my calls yet.
Lastly would say stay vigilent and stay safe...
