Tata Medical Center — extremely poor customer service

When it comes to the facilities and treatment though it is one if the best cancer hospitals but their customer service is extremely poor and to the lowest minimum. The customer service personnel's at various departments and the receptionist seems to have a kind of attitude that even the doctors and nurses don't have !! They speak very rudely and disrespectfully to the the patients and their families/relatives. Considering the fact that it's the patients who are suffering from various serious illness like cancer and that they are spending a fortune for the treatment, the behavior of the hospital staff is not understood ! They simply do not know the meaning of customer service ! They treat the patients as if they are obliging them or treating them for free. Instead TMC is one of the expensive hospitals in Kolkata !

They do not have a proper complaint system there ! Neither do they cooperate ! Instead they harass the patient by transferring the call from one dept to another and try to save the person in question ! Every staff there seems to have ministorial temper and attitude. They only know how to argue instead of solving any issues. When complained nobody even bothers ! not even their higher authorities are bothered.

There is a high expectation from a hospital like TATA specially at the customer service front and then this kind of behaviour is absolutely not accepted ! It's high time they have a proper vomplaint procedure in place and start taking action against the staff in question of their reputation is seriously at stake

TATA Medical Center is an infected part of TATA group of industries. The staff of this Hospital does not have a sense of responsibility and display an arrogant attitude towards patients and their family members. They don't deserve to be a part of this big brand.TATA, the name itself has a trust in itself but because of the incompetent staffs of this hospital the brand is losing its reputation.

The worst corner of the Hospital is the Health Insurance Corner and the man(with mustache) in this department is the most incompetent person I have ever come across. His attitude shows that he is not bothered about anything in this world expect himself. He always tries to flee from his responsibilities and provides incorrect information to patient. He is not willing to easily accept a request for cashless hospitalization.

I am glad that I moved to Apollo Gleneagles Hospital which has much better customer service and modern techniques of treatments.
If I had the authority, I would have thrown this "Jackal" from Insurance department out of the Hospital and would have hired a human being with manner

The "1 star" that I have given above is because I am an employee of TATA but of course not TATA Medical.If I am dissatisfied with TATA medical being a employee of TATA group then just imagine the disappointment you guys will have after visiting this hospital.

Beware of this hospital
Dr Reena Nair(oncologist) from TATA medical centre, kolkata behave like the patient and attendance are her servant. Her expectation from the patient is all the reports will always be kept in a manner. So she would not spent much time to consult with one patient and not only that she shows lots of ego/attitude which de-motivate the patient. One doctor should be polite, cool and calm. These three things cure the patient 50% without treatment and she does not see the patient in general. My question is are they not the human being who admit in general because of financial issue and what she think about herself?
My father recently got his MRI done at the Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata which cost more than INR 10, 000. However, upon requesting for the plates they said they would charge an additional about INR 200 per plate on top of what has been spent already! Does this make any sense? Squeeze money out o[censored]nfortunate patients who are grappling with their illness!
Tata Medical Center (TMC) has a huge space to improve it's quality of customer services. Its quality of customer services doesn't go with the name and fame of the brand TATA. It is assumed that the front line staffs aren't within the boundary of accountability. TMC starts its daily operations at 9.00 a.m. but many of the front line staffs don't present in their respective desk in time. Most of them seem to do an official job, they don't possess the tendency of serving the people actually where TMC is a renowned service oriented organization. Treatment of the patients in a medical center is not confined in medications only but also in good gesture, posture, attitude, manner, behaviour etc of all staffs and officials of the organization. All the staffs of TMC must remember and follow it. I love TMC and that's why above all impotences hurt me much. Wish all the best of TMC.
Very poor service of Housekeeping department of tata medical center Kolkata . No buddy work after one call.
TMC kolkata big black spot in the band name of TATA group, TATA either should withdraw their name or do some drastic steps to shape up the poor service standard of medical and non medical services. I work in a Reputed Hospital in New Delhi but it was my stupid decession to force my in laws to get treated in TMC kolkata, we Have lost money and most precious the life of patient too, at last we took LAMA and took away the patient because i could see the non developing condition of patient with false commitments of Doctors and arrogant service crew. They have Become money extracting hospital, their follow up for payments are so religious i wish 10% of that follow up could be given to patient care would have saved life of ill fated patient. we admitted our patient on 28th Feb 2016 .

Medical care and support service is equally worst. I am writing this review with the aim to save some one who is planning to get admitted or treated there, please dont take risk your patient life go to some multi specialty hospital than coming to TMC.
This is for other patients and their people. My father, who had lung cancer, stage 4.and was doing well in Mumbai Hinduja, till his 4th chemo. However, I consulted Dr. Rajkumar Shrimali from Tata Medical Centre Kolkata, and on his assurance, shifted him here under his treatment. However,
1) whenever there was an emergency or chemo side effects, there was usually a NO SHOW from the doctor as he's a busy and responsible person with so much workload !!! My father had to be admitted to other superspeciality hospitals,
2) As much as you try to reach your doctor in time of emergency or for any enquiry, you are screened out by other assistant or junior docs or receptionists, etc. AND this is a normal procedure here.Just find out.
3) The doctor was not clear about the treatment plan or the recovery process of a patient. Arrogance and ego guides his behaviour most of the time.
4)The doc shifted my father to another superspeciality hospital as he was going off for a holiday.As a daughter at that moment I never understood that he gave up . After shifting him to the other hospital, , I learnt that my father would not live.

BEWARE OF TATA MEDICAL CENTRE before putting your patient here. I regret my decision as I lost my papa last January and am still licking my fresh wounds !!! Roma
Its useless giving a single star to TATA Medical Centre. The service has gone below the bottom line. Very bad. Not expected from a brand like TATA.
TATA Medical Centre does not deserve a single star also. The service of TATA Medical Centre Kolkata has gone below bottom line. Very Bad. They keep waiting for more than 6 hours for normal routine checkups. They behave as if they are rendering free service. Hopeless service.
We feel blessed as a resident of Kolkata, west bengal as we are having a chance of having treatment at Tata Medical Hospital, New Town, kolkata.But after a single day we are facing immense issues with their services.Not sure about the actual problem what it is.But as a Tata group employee I always feel vision of a Tata group employee is always something better than the average.I feel proud to be an tata group employee but absolutely not satisfied with their medical and nursing advices.

1.We were consulting Doctor at private scheme.Doctor said on 29/08 afternoon to start chemo on 30/08..But after struggling with long queue and huge gathering on 30/008 when we managed to enter at daycare reception they said patients WBC count is too low for chemo and it can not be done.After huge burgaining they said blood test need to be done then and there.Depending on the result the next occurance will follow.
My question is a doctor who is prescribing chemo from the very next day how he can miss the patients important criteria like WBC count.

2.At the peak moment like 8 AM in morning there are huge queues of patient but there were very few person at all of their service desk.

3.No attention at daycare regarding saline flow and timing.They themselves wrote the saline is starting from 10.05 and will end at 11.35 i.e. 90 minutes but they do not actually care about timings.When we approached they did not answer a single word.

4.Their policy is to buy all medicines from thei apollo store and apollo pharmacy is irritably worst in terms of manpower, behavious and most importantly pricing.

5.Whenever there was an emergency or chemo side effects, there was usually a NO SHOW from the doctor.

6.As much as you try to reach your doctor in time of emergency or for any enquiry, you are screened out by other assistant or junior docs or receptionists, etc.

7.Insurance desk is horrible.They dont know even the approx expense which can occur for a cashless claim.

As Mr.Ratan Tata said it is more than socail service i cant see the promise here.not even in service quality nor in pricing.

Staffs are sometimes too rude and loud. I give only 2 stars.
I am a cancer patient and I am totally dissatisfied with this hospital. They canceled my appointment and did not give any appointment. They are truly irresponsible and poor in service.
Dr. Bivas Biswas(oncologist) treats patients as if he is doing a favour or EHSAAN on the patient and their family by just meeting them. Simple questions of patients are answered with arrogance and no sense of humanity. Everyone is going to die someday but you don't have to say it on face of somebody who is suffering a critical disease. Patient's question was "Sar me dard ho raha hai and his arrogant reply was Baal chaiye ya Zindagi ? Like really this is how you reply.
Pathetic Service from Tata Medical KOLKATA, This hospital does not have any control from management.
Doctor mentioned on your prescription to do EBUS biopsy on a certain date, but when you want go there and confirm the appointment. they don't care what ever written their own prescription. This has happed on MR no 22/004883. Latest funny part is Gastro department does not take appointment for Biopsy on Friday. I had a OPD visit on 25th Mar, 22. and went for appointment but no one is present in reception at Phase 2 1st floor in Gastro department.

Point 2 for fake assurance, I have given blood sample at 1pm for LFT test, and receptionist confirmed that I will get the reports after 4hr by logging through OTP at https://tmckolkata.com/reports/, But almost the day is over and still no such report are uploaded.
point 3: I had a MRI and CT thorax test on 30th Mar, 22 at 2PM. But before the test they confirmed that they will inform the report to corresponding doctor and also confirmed if patient is ready for biopsy or not. Unfortunately nothing has happened. Rather they as saying they will take 7days to generate report, which is very silly. CT scan and MRI report should not be take more than a day.
Another painful service, if you want to collect the scan plates of MRI and CT .. then you have to pay 150 per plate. This is a callousness of TATA Medical management. Management is just sucking money, nothing else.
You are paying money for the test, but you will not get the report and if you wants to get the plates of your own test without report then you have to pay extra money. Ridiculous.
Dr Bivas biswas is killing cancer patients in name of drug trials. Don't fall in his loop. He is inhuman and can do anything for money. He killed my father by overdosing chemo drugs. When my father repeatedly told he cannot take the pain, he said my father is mad and need mental counseling.. and forced on with the treatment plan..did not change..after the next chemo my father died. We later realized his objective was not to cure my father..but to test how long my father can take a new trial drug till he dies. He is pathetic and inhumane..don't go to him..u will regret your entire life just like what I am doing..
I did an usg, the fellow Doctor said the main doctor who gave you the usg test will reply you back via emails, she gave me a wrong invaild email id. Because of this I could not contact the doctor. When I said this to tata medical info centre, they sent me mails that are irrelevant. They don't read before sending mails. Please write to me at [protected]@gmail.com.I need to know what the doctor has to say about my report & I also want to get the hard copy of my report. The contact number of tata medical kolkata is always unavailable. Fraud hospital.
