Icse — Erring questions in mathematics icse boards x 2016.

Address:Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, 244412

Hey, My name is Samarth Varshney. I had given ICSE X Board - 2016 Mathematics Examination. The Question Paper came with some errors.

Firstly, in the Question 1 (b) part, it is not stated that we have to find the matrix or just the integral number. Most of the students got confused and end up with different answers.

Secondly, in Question 5 (c) part, the format of the question is prone to misinterpreted. The Question is "In what time will Rs. 1500 yield Rs. 1996.50 as compound interest at 10% per annum compounded annually". This question can be interpreted in two ways.
(i)"In what time will Rs. 1500 yield Rs. 1996.50" stating Rs. 1996.50 as the amount.
(ii)"In what time will Rs. 1500 yield Rs. 1996.50 as compound interest" stating 1996.50 as compound interest.

Lastly, in Question 9 (b) (ii) part, the area of the unshaded part can only be calculated by subtracting the area of the shaded part from the area of the kite figure. But as prescribed Syllabus for ICSE 2016 X Boards, there is none statement about calculating the area of Kite-shaped figures.

So, these are the errors experienced by most of the students of my Center.

Any help regarding these questions and their genuinity with reference to the Syllabus of Boards X 2016 is accepted.

Thank You,
Samarth Varshney.
