[Resolved]  University Grants Commission — Unapproved Qualification

Today (27.06.2013) there is a news in one of the leading dailies " THE HINDU" that UGC will take stern action against any University or Institute providing any misleading news about offering DEGREE.

My first question whether UGC can take unanimous decision to take action against such unapproved authority without the concurrence of MHRD?

Second question is whether UGC or MHRD is the supreme authority regarding approval of any educational qualification?

Last question is how institutes like Institution of Engineers and similar private bodies are providing membership equivalent to a degree under the nose of all the statutory bodies?

I would suggest UGC not to give misleading information to the larger mass.
