The link road from Vellanikode to Varandarappilly, the only road for people to meet their daily needs from Varandarappilly, is in a pathetic condition. Though a large number of vehicles ply on this road every day, it is neither wide enough, nor is it maintained periodically. All vehicles from Vellanikode, Marottichal tourist centre, and proposed Puthoor Zoo towards Varandrappilly and Kodakara have to depend on this road. Driving on this hilly road stretch becomes a tough task. There are more than dozen school buses in this route risking the life of school kids due to the pathetic condition of road. It is very difficult to climb the hilly road on several parts because it’s damaged completely. The entire road stretch is in very bad shape and there are incidents of two-wheelers falling into potholes.
There is a laying stone of this road at the entrance from Vranadarappilly side of the road. This laying stone along with cement bricks added onto it is encroached by wayside shoppers. Authorities should take action at the earliest. Was this information helpful? |
