Livspace — Refund of Rs. 40,000 Case ID 2321940

Address:Unit No.104, 1st Floor, Ocean Building Opposite Vadodara
Website:htpps://www.livspace.com

I along with my family members on 12th December, 2023 at your Vadodara Office for furniture work at my flat at Fortune Palladium, Manjalpur, Vadodara. On our first meeting with Mr. Keyur Raval, we had decided to go ahead for furniture work at my flat at Vadodara. On further discussion, we were told that if we pay Rs. 25, 000 immedialey, We would be entitled to big discount. Accordingly we had paid Rs. 25, 000 to start the work. We were also assured that even if we do not go ahead, some work of furniture will be done against Rs. 25, 000.

After few days Livspace office sent a team to survey and measurement at my flat. After that Livspace office told us to deposit Rs.15, 000 for teams visit at my flat. So, I paid Rs. 15, 000 on 27th December, 2023. Then, there were four to five of Livspace persons had changed to handle our case. Some of the names are Mr. Keyur Raval, Ms. Sakshi Vyas, Mr. Hardik, Ms. Naisargi etc. So, I got anger and told Mr. Keyur Raval to fix one person only to handle our case. After that, Ms. Naisargi was handling our case. An appointment was fixed on 16th January, 2024 for furniture design etc. On reaching Vadodara, a massage was received from Ms. Naisargi that see would not be available as she would be going to other customer’s site. So, I had sent a message to Mr. Keyur Raval, to look into this and after his interference, the meeting was finally held with Ms. Naisargi. The detailed estimate was to sent us within two days. After few reminders the estimate was sent us on 26th January, 2024.

On studying estimate of Rs. 10, 78, 515/-, we found the estimate on very higher side. Kitchen itself was of Rs. 2, 80, 389/-. Immediately after giving estimates Livspace office made pressure to make
Payment. On our refusal to go ahead with the furniture work, we have been offered some discount, which we were not agreed to. Then after, final offer was given to us for furniture work of Rs.2, 00, 000/- so that our payment of Rs. 40, 000 can be adjusted.

Who fool would pay Rs. 25, 000 on first meeting in the absence of your so called cancellation
Policy. Nothing was explained to us. No signature was obtained on any document. Such type of cancellation policy is not seen anywhere and it is unheard of. Payment of site measurement & multiple design meetings does not arise, as now workorder is executed. Such expenses is the part of Livspace’s marketing tactics. This can not be thrown on customer’s head. Be informed that, we were never been informed, that on cancellation of furniture work, we should give order of Rs. 2, 00, 000/- to settle any amount paid on booking of furniture work. We had been told by Mr. Keyur Raval, only work of Rs. 25, 000/- is required to be done if we cancel the booking. Now, Livspce is asking for minimum order of Rs. 2, 00, 000/- which not at all agreed by us. We feel cheated by this type of approach.

As per your advertisement propaganda, Livspace is offering 3BHK Modular Packages starting from Rs. 4.23 lacs. Whereas, we have been given estimate of above Rs. 10 Lacs. Livspace should first explain package of Rs. 4.23 lacs, and then after they should explain higher packages. Such type of advertisement is misleading the customers who are coming from middle class. Such type of advertisement should be stopped immediately. It will have negative effect on your business.

Under the above circumstances, we are not going ahead for any type of furniture with Livspace.
Some of the chats exchanged on whatsApp messages for the problems faced are attached herewith for your kind reference.

It is no good practice to pressurize for payment, once the meeting is started. Everything should not be at the cost of customers.

We understand that Livspace is lacking some good marketing tactics. For example, on first meeting we were asked to Rs. 25, 000/- immediately so that we would be entitled to good discount. So, customer is tempted to pay immediately as amount was reasonable. After site survey and measurement, again Rs. 15, 000 was asked to pay immediately so that estimate work could be started. Then after a week, the estimate of above Rs. 10 lacs was sent to us, which was very very high. Not only that we were asked to pay 50% of total estimate, so that agreement can be signed and furniture work can be completed within 45 days. Mentally, were not prepared to absorb such a big amount in comparison of your advertisement of Rs. 4.23 Lacs for modular furniture. Howmany projects you have completed in Rs. 4.23 for 3BHK. Of course, some amount can be on higher side as we requested for certain up gradation. So we showed our inability to go ahead with furniture work. Again, the offer of discount was made to us, which we deed not agreed. One of the customer was shouting at Livspace on certain dissatisfaction on some matter on the day of our last meeting. Evertyhing is not well at your Vadodara Office. It gives impression that Livspace is money minded and not customer friendly.
