I have received a bill of Rs. 35, 650 for the month of February. I called the online helpline number to complain (Request Id:[protected] they said the previous bills paid were not aggregated so the bill will be reduced and for meter checking, I need to submit a written application to the sub-division office.
I would like to bring to your notice that my previous bills are in the range of Rs. 250 to Rs. 300 because I do not stay at this property and do not have heavy electricity-consuming appliances like AC etc.
I received a call from Mr. Roshan Satinge from MSEB from mobile no: [protected]. He mentioned that I need to make the payment or else I will have to face power disconnection. He shared 2 videos on WhatsApp stating that the meter is already checked and it has only 2% error which is nominal and which means the power is consumed and I need to pay the full amount.
I never made an application for checking the meter then how did Mr. Roshan Satinge remove the meter from my property in my absence and checked it?
I suspect that the meter was rigged by Mr. Roshan Satange. When I asked him whether there is any other way I can raise a complaint then he very rudely asked me to check for myself and said that my complaint would not be accepted as it is not MSEB's fault.
I tried to explain to Mr. Roshan Satinge that I have made all the payments till January 2023 within a week of bill generation or prior to the due date and have never defaulted but this time it is a matter of investigation and I will not be able to pay such a huge amount for the electricity I never consumed. Mr. Roshan Satinge very rudely responded that he doesn't have time and I can do what I want at the end I will have to pay the bill.
I request you help me in investigating the matter to the core as Mr. Roshan Satinge has threatened me with a power disconnection and further actions.
I have come to know from other consumers that this is a common issue in the area where closed houses are targeted and given huge electricity bills and Mr. Roshan Satange starts harassing them.
If I pay the bill now then next time if I am in the same situation then I will be given an example of my current situation I had consumed so many units in the past and paid the bill and will have to pay it again.
I am reaching out to you in goodwill that the matter will be investigated and my previous consumption and current consumption will be checked and the February 2023 bill will be regenerated with the correct units and payment amount.
