Metro Railway, Kolkata — Improper Behaviour and Comment by Cashier

I was at Kavi Subhash metro station and was making a card. Gave the cashier a 100Rs note which she returned to me after 10 seconds, claiming I had given her a torn note. It was, of course, perfectly fine when I had produced it. She seemed to have torn it herself.

This was fine, as human error may happen. While getting another note for her, I commented on the situation to my travel partner, saying that it was not torn, and she must have somehow torn the note.

At this point, the cashier butted in and told me "to not act oversmart"!, Insisting it was me who gave her the bad note. At this point it was clear to me she was frustrated and was choosing to take it out on me. I held my silence and calmly walked off with the card.

Very poor customer service, it's extremely detrimental to the travel spirit for both residents as well as tourists visiting Kolkata. Terrible experience!
