Mmrda, Mumbai — railing on footpath and bollards on dinshaw master road, parsi colony, dadar east), mumbai 400 014.

Address:Mumbai City, Maharashtra, 400014

On sunday, the 5th november, 2017, the contractor appointed by the mmrda came with the railings and bollards so as to prevent car parking on the pavements. The contractor was able to carry out work at certain places but was bribed and threatened by mr. Adi vasaigara, chairman, the parsee central association co-operative housing society not to put railings and bollards at selected places convenient for parking his cars. There is enough space for car parking in building sof the parsee central association co-operative housing society but they have been converted in private gardens with the result that cars are parked on the pavements. It puts the old pedestrians at much inconvenience. Even today most of the cars are parked on the pavements. Mmrda with mcgm should ensure that not even one car is allowed to be parked on the pavement. Otherwise the whole exercise of building pavements is futile. Hence, mmrda and mcgm should ensure the uniformity of fixing railings and bollards at all places to as to make it impossible to park cars on pavements. Pavements are meant for walking and not for parking cars.
