There’s this Mr DIY store offering do it yourself and home improvement products at Aundh pune near westend mall. This is like a walk-in shop where you explore items for sell at your own pace and when ready, go to cash counter for billing.

The variety of items for sell is good. They are certain items like bags etc stocked on the wall just behind the cash counter. This seems to be a technique to lure customers at the cash counter from buying more and more things. The shelf on wall is not accessible to customers and they need to take help of the cashier. Then it becomes like a traditional shopping.

When a customer is at the cash counter for billing and at the same time they are attracted to buy more items from the shelf, they seek assistance from the cashier and this process eats up time and rest of the customers waiting in queue get delayed for billing as the customer who otherwise was ready for billing is still now shopping more items standing at the counter itself blocking other customers in queue behind them.

This should be avoided. I suggest to move the shelf to some other location and ensure that customers at the billing counter are not engaged into shopping more items while standing at the counter delaying other customers to billing.
