M/s Alif Associates — Post rental service fraud | |||
While searching for second-hand appliances, we chanced on this rental advertisement in Quikr. For a security deposit of Rs. 15000/- and a monthly rental of Rs. 750/-, we were getting a fridge and washing machine. We spoke to the concerned person Ameen on the no. [protected] and agreed to the deal. We rented a washing machine and fridge from this company. The delivery was prompt, but the product was old and unclean. We had asked for a fully automatic washing machine, and the person assured us that the same would be delivered within a week (the person was Muslim and this was around Id - July 12th). We believed him and decided to use the semi-automatic till he replaces the same. As it turned out, the fridge freezes everything, no food is spared. The washing machine's water inlet pipe is damaged, rendering it unusable. And the person has been Missing In Action since. Numerous calls and messages have been ignored. He has taken a security deposit of Rs. 15000/- along with advance rental of 6 months at Rs. 4500/-. Was this information helpful? | |||

This is regarding the complaint I logged on August 18, 2015 with the title M/s Alif Associates — Post rental service fraud.
The person Ameen has received a court order asking him to visit the District Magistrate Court.
Since we didn't hear from you for 10 days, we also visited the police station on August 29th, and the owner has agreed to take back the items and return our money to us.
