Municipal Corporation Of Chennai — unauthorized felling of trees

Sir/madam, i am a resident of adambakkam. Today i found that a large, fully grown tree which has been planted and maintained for more than a decade had been cut completely in parthasarathy nagar 3rd street, adambakkam. I don't know if they got permission to cut the tree from authorities concerned. This is not the first time. A similar tree adjacent to this was cut last year in the same street. Fully grown trees on roadside meant for shadow and preservation of ecosystem are cut like this in this area by some people. Same has occurred in shanti nagar, kundrakudi nagar et c. Before this. One has to understand it takes a decade for a tree to grow and give shade and air. Trees are important to bring rainfall &reduce the temperature during sunny days. I request the authorities concerned to take immediate action on the culprits & prevent this type of tree felling in future for the betterment of everyone.
