A few days back I was searching for bed/pillows hierers in Chennai for hiring extra beds and pillows required in the Choultry where I have fixed the marriage of my daughter on 5th and 6th April 2022. Immediately, I got a phone call from this number ([protected]) whose name was displayed as Devanathan in True Caller. The man asked me what was my requirement. He said he can fulfil my requirement and immediately asked me to transfer 50% of amount as advance through google pay in ([protected]). I told him I have not seen him, neither the product which he is supposed to give for hire and not know from where he is operating etc. and told him to send his address. He sent a card which had a name printed as Navin & Co, his phone number with address as follows - 60/134, Anna Sali Road, Palavakkam, Chennai 600 041.. That's all. I didn't respond. again a day after I searched Just Dial for hirers of beds/pillows. Again within a few minutes I got call from the same person from same number. This time he agreed to send photos of the product that he wished to hire. He sent and demanded again 50% of the total amount. I said, I will pay Rs 1000 now and after seeing him in his work place on 19.03.2022 and after ensuring the quality of the product that he was going to hire, I will pay the remaining amount. He said OK. But today, he called me again and demanded to transfer 3000 rupees through gpay immediately. As I require the beds/pillows only during the first week of April, I said, it is too early to transfer 50% of the amount without seeing the person, without knowing the company and the quality of the product. I also told him that I would visit his place tomorrow and give him the money and take receipt. But he started abusing with bad words and said he cannot entertain me at his place. From this I got sure that the man has cheated me and is not going to supply any material on hire but wanted to grab money from me. It is bad on the part of Just Dial to share our phone number to unknown persons who on the pretext of selling/supplying demand money and cheat us like this. I have lost Rs 1000 to an unknown person just because Just Dial shared my number to him without verifying his stature.
