Updated by Hemant8171 On date[protected], i lodged my grievance regarding the withholding of fee collected after the withdrawal of my admission. Unfortunately i have not been contacted nor been given the status of my grievance. I am disappointed because as per ugc grievance redressal guidelines, The stipulated time period for redressal of a grievance is 45 days.
It is so unfortunate that niu has no regard for ugc guidelines, there is a lot of optics for sure, a student may come back for masters, as i experienced all this, it only makes me pat myself for not staying.
I seriously doubt if they have a grievance redressal cell at all, by the way they do have a lavished dedicated admission cell.
I, as a student can use that money for my growth, its really difficult not to considering i have not used much of the resources in the time i was there.
But that is not the reason money should be given to me, the ugc guidelines "clearly" states, the why, it is not even the matter of debate.
Now, there are clear repercussions for not following the ugc norms, but there has been no action in the last 45 days, i feel that speaks volumes for the state of things at niu.
As a conscious effort, i refrained from mentioning seeking help from a consumer protection body.
An official there said" oh ugc doesn't give us any money, therefore we are not liable to follow the guidelines, ugc says pay this much to professors, we don't, " as if it is something to be proud of.
I truly believe that this platform will make a difference.
