My father, Kalyan Kumar Adhya, 78 years old, is a cancer patient. He was admitted to RUBY HDU Bed no 2054 with a gut infection.
Due to the nature of his infection, he is repeatedly defecating. Due to the same reason, he called the attending nurse several times. On 14th March, 2023, the nurse working during the shift 2 pm to 8 pm, mishandled and blatantly misbehaved with my father when he asked her to check if he had defecated. She even shut the glass door of his room to prevent him from calling out to her. This traumatized my father.
During the visiting hours, we found that his clothes and hand was soiled with faecal matter. Upon pointing this out to the nurse, she put some sanitizer in his hand and saud she will clean up the patient later. Upon insisting that she attend the patient asap, she shoved my mother and asked her to leave.
We are RUBY'S old customer and are utterly shocked with this behaviour. I am a National awarded scientist and thought of writing to the Ministry of Health but instead am putting my faith in RUBYs management.
I want an apology from the nurse and a guarantee that such heinous act will not be committed again.
Please resolve this at the earliest,
