Water falls heavily from the roofs of the illegally built rooms and cabins on the terraces of flat 33 on 4th floor and flat 37 on 5th floor below into my balcony, on the boundary wall of the building and on the footpath adjacent to the building Maheshwari Mansion at 34 Nepean Sea Road in Mumbai. Illegal construction has been allowed by the trustees and the Secretary of Saraswatibai Bishwambharlal Charity Trust which maintains the 80-year old building Maheshwari Mansion. There is illegal construction in several flats of the 80-year old building. Bathrooms have been converted into kitchens, kitchens have been converted into bedrooms and rooms and cabins have been constructed on terraces of flats in the 80-year old building by several tenants and residents illegally without the permission of Brihan Mumbai Mahanagarpalika. These photos have been clicked by me today when it is raining heavily. The water falls into my balcony and even below on the boundary wall of the building and footpath used by pedestrians. The damp walls have ruined the facade of the 80-year old building and have been gradually weakening the structure of the 80-year old building. A few days ago, a building in the Bhendi Bazar area in Mumbai collapsed and many residents were dead and injured.
