Shipra Sun City — Dog menace in shipra suncity ghaziabad

Address:Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, 201014

Hi sir/mam,

This is to inform you that we the residents of shipra suncity are facing some really tough times due to the havoc created by stray dogs... Some irresponsible residents feed street dogs within the campus which in turn becomes nightmarish for the residents living within shipra suncity. I would like to bring to your notice an incident that happened a few days back when a few young kids were playing in the play ground and were bitten mercelessly by the stray dogs.
Most of the times during the night or early up in the morning, dogs can be seen howling growling and creating nuisance. Most importantly it puts the life of the residents in danger (Especially kids and elderly citizens)
I would also like to highlight that there are a few irresponsible citizens who feed these dogs in the wee hours of the night hence creating a lot of filth and dirt on the roads and the building staircase in the morning

I would really urge you to take some strict action against these people and also make arrangements so that these street dogs can be deported from here by the mcd and taken to shelter homes.

Regards,
Resident (Shipra suncity, regal building)

Dear Resident of Shipra Suncity, Regal Building.

I am very sorry to hear that you are fearing trouble. Let me assure you for your peace of mind that dogs are not dangerous animals and are generally not aggressive to humans unless they feel threatened. As far as feeding dogs is concerned, a notification by Animal Welfare Board of India dated 26th February 2015 clearly states that it is perfectly fine and legal to feed the stray dogs and one cannot raise objections or try to stop someone from feeding stray or pet animals. In fact, it is a national duty of every citizen of India to show compassion to our fellow companions with whom we share our earth and this country. Therefore I would urge you to look in your heart to find the compassion to forgive the innocent animal for an isolated incident and rekindle your connection with them, they are lovely creatures!
I would also like you to understand that barking and howling are natural to dogs and it is their way of expressing themselves, just like us humans express ourselves by talking. By no way is the barking a nuisance to anybody and legally no step can or should be taken to subdue that.
A dog is a territorial animal and cannot adjust well if taken to a shelter suddenly, they get very disturbed if they are removed from their natural environment. According to the recent judgement of the Hon'bl supreme court, any municipal actions are only limited to sterilizing and vaccination of the dogs and then are required to be left back to the same place where they were picked from, in accordance with the law.

Therefore, I would urge YOU to please try to co-operate with the residents who feed them and come to a mutual understanding about the terms of the same and to try to convince them to feed them in a more orderly manner. Rest assured, dogs will not threaten anybody's safety if they're left alone and not threatened.

Regards,
Resident (S.P.S Residency, your neighbours!)
Dear Ms. Debashree Ganguly,

Your complaint about dog menace being a problematic situation in Shipra Suncity is completely futile. I would request you to please take into consideration Mr. Inderpal's suggestion as that is lawfully accepted. You are complaining about the increasing menace in the society, let me ask you what have you done as a responsible citizen in all these years? Have you ever asked the residents who feed and care for these animals if they require any resources or funds to help vaccinate or sterilise these dogs? Have you ever questioned the RWA as to what is their role to play towards sterilisation and other dog related activities?

Being in compassionate towards a person and false accusations are very easy to make. Instead of these mindless accusations, make an effort to build a solution to this problem and help your society. Mind you - let that happen in a civilised manner as per our law. Dogs are harmless and as seen in these past few days more loyal than you - SO CALLED human beings! You are narrating an incident which is completely false and if the child was bitten, you may submit the proof as demanded by the police constables. Stop protesting and attacking a single lady, come out of your homes as responsible citizens and help your society rise above false accusations and allegations. Remember, you have children around you who are learning from you as an example, teach them something good instead of making them goons-to-be. We as a country need to unite together and solve problems not attack one another!
Follow these steps-

1. Tag the dogs and ID each one of them in the confines of the society. Collect dna sample too if you can (few hair and collect file them in plastic).

2. Sterilize all dogs with the society.

3. Gain a written agreement with all dog lovers that there are no dogs left in society without a tag/ID.

4. Any new dog found in society without the tag is an intruder and has to be evicted.

5. Wait few years, the dog population would come down naturally.

I am an Shipra Suncity resident and I totally agree with you...I think that instead of complaining about our terrible conditions...we should ask for the guidance of some expert...and follow her/him. We can also follow Varu07's recommendations...or we can relocate all the dogs in our society and ensure that no other dog enters our society...this was for my fellow resident

For other readers...please consider our situation...it is very bad...every month we usually get 2 to 3 cases of dog biting...our society is huge and so it is difficult to befriend these dogs...our Indirapuram where our society is once was a forest...PFA comes and pretends to sterilize the dogs...but in the next breeding season dogs still breed...and uff!! the dogs increase...they are cute and loyal but the bigger ones bite us...chase us...our society is big so if any disease spreads it affects the whole society...we have taken hundreds of rounds of the local administration...our AOA has tried everything under its control...but alas...now many women of our society have been sitting since 10 days in dharna...it is chilly December...so u can guess how difficult it is to stay outside...
1. As per WHO rabies results in 20, 000 deaths across India. Almost all cases are caused by dog bites. Rabies is scary with Aerophobia and Hydrophobia.
2. Dogs evolved from wolves as a carnivorous hunting companion with the primary objective of assistance in killing prey animals. Dogs are violent carnivorous animals by evolution and by nature attack and injure each other.
3. Dogs are also fertile homes/spreading mechanism for external and internal parasites such as fleas, ticks, worms.
4. Dogs enjoy chasing/biting rag pickers, beggars and kids. Their saliva coming in contact with open wound or bite wound can cause rabies if the jab is not taken. Poor strata of the society hardly takes proper medical treatment after the dog bite event.
5.. Dogs barking at us, as we are walking by or chasing us is a great nuisance. It leads to absolute distress and anger that we are not able to enjoy a late night stroll or early morning stroll.
6. All animals lovers should bring stray dogs inside their homes, immunize and leash them or stop the drama of animal love.
7. Countries like US have scoop and leash laws. No dogs without leash outside the house. Leash firmly secured by owner to prevent the dog from attacking others.
8. 20% of India a below poverty line and severely malnourished. We have to prioritize feeding the poor humans first.
9. Cows eat grass/hay and produce milk which is the conversion of non edible food to high protein food of milk/milk products. Cows are a blessings for humankind and it's the right kind of domestication. Dogs attack kids, old, weak, infirm, poor and others.
10. We are not living in a Hunter Gatherer society that we have to go on hunting trips every few days and we need hunting companion with canines teeths and claws. We are living in a civilized society where anything which instills fear in others should not be allowed.
11. Some Indians take pleasure in instilling fear in others. Sadism is their pleasure. They want to have something which will cause damage or induce fear in others. This behavior of dogs without leash is an example of that. No dogs should be in public area without leash.
12. So called animal lovers: STERLIZE, IMMUNIZE AND ADOPT.
