[Resolved]  specific relocations — Goods STOLEN during TERRIBLE relocation experience

I HAD to post this after my terrible experience with Specific Relocations. I got in touch with them about moving my personal baggage/belongings to Wellington, New Zealand from Bangalore, India. I chose them because their quote INITIALLY was lower. The quote changed the minute and became HIGHER I chose them and made an appointment. I was given a lecture about the mechanics of the transportation industry when asked why. Nevertheless, I decided to go ahead with them since they sounded responsive. On the day of packing, I see one broken down auto-rickshaw filled with used cardboard cartons and a broken weighing machine! I was a little upset to find out that they would then take ALL of my PACKED items back to their warehouse in the same auto-rickshaw! Talk about first impressions! The lady who came along to manage our move did NOTHING! We had to help in packing our items ourselves and also make an inventory of the items being packed. I was paying them to pack things myself! I was also charged EXTRA based on some volume and not weight and this was not mentioned earlier! After this disaster, after moving to New Zealand, I find out that ALL of the items have been MASSIVELY under declared resulting in a hold up at the Customs office. This is probably one of the WORST CASE scenarios you could get into when you've just started in another country. After paying hefty customs duties and FINES, I was finally able to get my shipment cleared (despite being promised door to door delivery including clearance) and I discover after the boxes arrive that pretty much everything that is valuable has been stolen from the boxes. Apparently, Specific Relocations use DHL or other providers and this was stolen when they were moving our contents from one box to another. I now cannot claim travel insurance because of what they've done, but I am however contemplating going to the consumer court in Bangalore. Please DO NOT consider Specific Relocations EVER for your moving needs. It's a terrible, terrible company with an operator who promises the moon and delivers nothing! I've written to them multiple times about this and haven't even received a word of apology! Downright HORRIBLE!
