[Resolved] State Bank of India — Cash Withdrawal after ATM machine not responded | |||
On August 16th, 2014 I attempted to withdraw money on a SBI ATM (S10A[protected] around 5:15pm. Before I was entering the ATM I was told by a person who came out from the ATM that the machine was not responding. But since I needed money I want to give a try withdrawal of money. After inserting the card, I selected the Banking option and tried entering the PIN. When I entered the first few digits of the PIN, there is no indication on the screen that I entered the PIN and no * (asterisk) appeared. Then, I tried cancelling the transaction by entering CLEAR, CANCEL and everything. The point is that I have not entered the complete PIN. The screen looked to be hanged and was not responding. By that time, there was another person who came in and trying with his card. After I left the ATM, few minutes later I got an SMS that my account has been debited with Rs.10000. I logged into my online account immediately and the transaction was actually happened. I was shocked though I didn't enter the PIN completely and without going into any of the transaction how it had happened. I made a compliant by contacting the customer care with the transaction details. I went back to the ATM to see if anyone had withdrawn the money, but there were people queued up and no one seem successful withdrawal of money from that ATM.
