State Bank Of India [SBI] — Credit card due cleared but still raising late fee

I had cleared all dues exactly on the due date and wanted to close the card, when i called up customer care after some days they claim to pay more money to close. This late payment due is continuing every month and not got a solution for it. Why should someone pay for not using it?
