Sub: refund of wrong charges debited in s. B. A/c no. [protected]

I am having s. B. Account no. [protected] (Cif no. [protected]) with you.

Your bank has introduced criteria for monthly average balance (Mab) in savings bank accounts and charges for non maintenance of mab w. E. F. 24.04.2017 and 01.10.2017 detailed as under:-.

Despite of clear cut rules for charging mab, your bank has debited mab charges considering indore city under metro city detailed as under:-

It is observed that your bank has wrongly debited rs. 233.00 during the period april 2017 to august 2017. We request you to please reverse the wrongly debited mab charges + interest @ 12% per annum on the wrongly debited mab charges immediately.

Your bank had passed on sms to us in april 2017 for maintaining minimum balance of rs. 3000/- as indore city falls under urban city. Accordingly, we immediately deposited rs. 1700/- on 27.04.2017 to fulfill the criteria of minimum balance of rs. 3000/-.

Despite of clear cut rules for charging mab, your bank has debited mab charges considering indore city under metro city your bank has wrongly debited rs. 233.00 during the period april 2017 to august 2017. The monthly average balance (Mab) was rs. 3000/- or more during april 2017 to september 2017.


We request you to please reverse the wrongly debited mab charges of rs. 233.00 + interest @ 12% per annum on the wrongly debited mab charges as indore is urban city (Criteria of minimum balance of rs. 3000/-) and not metro city (Criteria of minimum balance of rs. 5000/-). Thus a lot of customers have been deceived by your bank. If we consider 10 lacs such cases, then the fraud works out to rs. 23.30 crores (Rs. 233/- x 10 lacs customers) during may 2017 to august 2017. If the same will continue, it will manifold. The responsible should be catched immediately to stop the same.
