Palmco Energy — Palmco Energy. Buyers BEWARE!

Palmco Energy solicited me over the phone, promising "lower" rates on my utility bill. When first approached over the phone they made themselves seem that they were from PSE&G, after agreeing to join they then disclosed the fact that they were not from PSE&G and that they were a third party company, but assured me that my bill will still come from PSE&G and that nothing will change and that I will see a lower bill. Here is what they did not disclose to me. 1- They did not disclose the fact that they were just the "supply" company and that PSEG would charge me for "delivery". 2- They did not disclose to me the fact to switch over to them would take a 2-3 month process, now when I called to cancel on March 6th of 2013 the representative DID NOT disclose that it was the same process to cancel, FORCING me to stay with Palmco for the next 3 months. Number 3- they did not disclose that their rates are "variable" rates, and apparently they can go up whenever they feel like it. The rate I was being billed at for the month of Jan & Feb were the same. The second I called in March to cancel their services my bill came in that month at almost a 3% rate hike. When I complained about it they said that was what I "signed" up for. No contract was ever given to me, I DID NOT sign anything. Nothing was sent to me in writing stating that I signed up for a "variable" rate. Now they may be allowed under the law to raise these rates, but it is UNETHICAL and this is gouging. I am a single mother of two young children, I live in an apartment not a house and my bill for March was $428 dollars. Where is the fairness in this? They are an unethical company, my neighbor across the street was approached by Palmco as well, and also stated that they approached her as well under the impression that they are from PSE&G.
