[Resolved] Volkswagen India — Overcharging for spares | |||
I am a "proud" owner of a Polo 1.2 petrol Comfort line owner. My car is just over an year old and has done only 5500 KM.The reverse light along with parking sensor stopped working in one fine morning.Uopn taking the car to the Authorised service centre in Faridabad, it was detected that a yellow sensor wire from the gear box to a junction box is broken. As the part was not available with the service centre at that time, an order was placed for it.I was told that the wire is costing around Rs 45/-.A few days later when I visited the service centre, the part had arrived and to my astonishment the cost of it is Rs 4400/-.It is actually a 1mm copper wire of less than 0.5 Meter in length with timble at both ends. I told them that it highly exaggerated price and one can get a gold chain of the same size at that amount. I didn't purchase it from them and could get the problem fixed at Rs 100/- from outside. Is there any authority in this country to control Volkswagen like MNCs from looting our country men?Dear friends think well before investing your hard earned money on cars made by Volkswagen or similar companies. It will make you pauper when it comes to maintenance.
