Alaska Seafood Company — halibut processing from big jim fishing

Address:5731 Concrete Way, 99801

I caught a 37.5 inch halibut and extremely yellow-eye rockfish. The charter company told me they would forward my fish to them for processing and shipping and it would a couple of weeks.

Mike (The new owner of big jim’s) showed the net weight of my fish (Fully dressed out) should yield at least 22 pounds of halibut plus the filets from the rockfish.

After alaska seafood called me and told me that both fish only yielded 11 pounds (Total from both fish) i questioned the low weight and was told that’s it.

I’ve contacted mike to secure his help in getting the appropriate amount fish shipped to me.

I have contacted alaska fish and game to secure their report on my fish (Because the female game agent met us at the dock when we returned. Because we had to be rushed to our cruise ship, i was told we could not wait for the copy of the report from the fish and game agent. So i have to go through a longer process to get the report from them, but i will get it.

Fortunately, i have free legal services in my family and while i would prefer to have alaska seafood company make this right with me directly, since this is a matter of principle to me, i’m prepared to do whatever necessary to resolve this issue.

The day was challenging enough, since we almost had a sever collision with another boat (If i had not gotten mike attention in time). We did not address this matter with the coast guard or anyone else at this time, but someone needs to make this matter right with me.
