American Express India — Gift card | |||||
I am Madhu and I was issued an AMEX gift card bearing number[protected] for INR 5, 000. The card had a balance of INR 1, 000 when it expired on July 2015. I spoke to their customer care in September 2015 and I was told that a new card will be issued with 15-20 days. However, I did not receive the card and i forgot to follow-up with them. When I re-checked with them on Jan 19, 2016 I was told that "the card is defunct (lapse of 90 days) and as per their records, I had called them however, before placing the request the call got disconnected and the request was not placed" where as the actual request was placed by me and taken by their representative. I understand that there was a delay in following up from my side but the response I got from AMEX is grossly incorrect, negligent with their 'do not care attitude' is utter dismay.
