[Resolved]  Autobahn Enterprises — Sold faulty car to me

1. Not even a year and the air conditioner spoilt. Gave the car to JMD service centre Sakinaka on 24-jan-12 for the same and first service. Was told the problem is fixed and returned the car on 25-jan-12. Invoice Number: JMD[protected]

2. The air conditioner was still not functioning properly so returned the car to the same service centre on 28-jan-12. They returned the car after almost a month on 25-feb-12 saying there was a problem with the circuitry and wiring and it’s been fixed. Invoice Number: JMD[protected]


3. The fuel gauge meter stopped functioning suddenly and fell below empty sign also the air conditioner was again not functioning again. This time gave the car to Autobahn service centre at Goregaon on 3-sep-12. Some air-conditioner related parts and fuel gauge were replaced and the car was returned after ten days on 13-sep-12. 4. During ignition the car did not start at once and sometimes shut down immediately after starting and showed the ‘red battery’ signal. So car was given to Autobahn service centre at Goregaon on 20-nov-12 and the problem was fixed and car returned on 22-nov-12. Invoice Number: MUM[protected]

5. On 5-dec-12 while driving the car suddenly showed a yellow signal which according to page number 30 of the manual was indicating some problem with the exhaust. So the car was immediately given to Autobahn service centre at Goregaon. A canister was replaced and car returned on the same day. Invoice Number: MUM[protected]

6. On 8 of December 2012 around 5PM, when the car was going to Shirdi from Mumbai, 25km short from Shirdi the car suddenly stopped accelerating and warning light was blinking. Driver tried pulling over the car but the car stopped on one side of the road. The car shutdown. Put the gear on P and tried to start but it did not start. The car could not be moved and Roadside assistance were of no help as the was bought before march 2011. Skoda even denied a tow service even if we were ready to pay for it. The car was not starting, couldn’t be pushed aside, Skoda wasn’t readyy to tow it. We made frantic calls to the Skoda helpline, our representative also went to Autobahn service centre at Goregaon and pleaded for help but all was in vain. Skoda didn’t care and Autobahn said it was helpless itself. Soon the emergency lights went out and the car stood unnoticed in the dark to oncoming trucks, we stood flashing our cell phones to slow down the trucks and guide them without crashing the car. Skoda and Autobahn Enterprises obviously didn’t care. After a 15 hour ordeal we somehow managed to arrange a towing service from Shirdi which charged us 14500 to get the car to Autobahn service centre at Goregaon. Car reached the service centre on 9-dec-12 at around 8AM.

I have been told there is a Mechatronic failure and the concerned part will be replaced. Car is still at the service centre. It is now unsafe to drive this car and after the warranty expires(15-feb-13) it will also become unaffordable with the chain of problems this faulty car has. Under warranty they have already replaced parts amounting to approximately Rs.4,00,000/-

Poor car specific expertise and above all, NOT TRUST WORTHY and anti customer friendly. The shop is lead by Mr Anantharam. I wanted to change my timer chain. Hyundai verna CDRi - Timing case was a little different from other car design and it comes with a inbuilt oil pump. They broke the oil pump casting when disassembling the timing case. They lied to me that it was broke already due to the wobbling of timing chain and it had hit the casting. They gave an estimate total 12,500 for the broken part. They didnt even have the expertise to tell a intelligent lie. I got suspicious and inquired Hyundai on this regard. They told me that the only reason for it could break is due to improper method of disassembling. Finally I bought the broken spare from outside, which had cost me 7,500. I lost 7500!. Moreover after receiving the car, the next day the car did not start up, some of the front and back lights were not working( guess they have missed some connections), wheel cap for a wheel was missing. I again spoke with Mr Anantaraman about these issues, but he blankly refused to look on these issues. He had charged my 44,000 for servicing and this kind of reply hurts.This was my second experience and my first experience is a different story.I had asked them for car break down service. While towing the car, they met with an accident on the way and broke my front bumber. Luckily my driver was with them and he informed me. They just billed me the towing charges and did not even have the courtesy to inform me and pretended as nothing had happened. They were not even ready to get the bumber serviced.
