[Resolved]  Autobahn Enterprises — Repair works created to extort maximum money and personal belongings stolen from workshop

Address:Mumbai City, Maharashtra

My name is Vinod Nair and I had given my Skoda Octavia L&K for repair work on 27th July 2013 at your Kurla work shop (Autobhan - Kurla). The car was handed over to the advisor and my personal belongings were kept in the boot. This included a spare rear view mirror (driver side) and a bag of CD’s. On 30th of July 2013 I received an estimate of Indian rupees 70, 000/- for the repair work. On 1st of August 2013 I was informed by the advisor that the cost just went up to Indian rupees 77, 000/- since Skoda service shop had done a complete check up and found couple of more parts which had to be replaced. I was called at the Kurla service centre on 3rd of Aug to collect the car however the workshop team failed to deliver it to me and requested me to come to the workshop on 6th of Aug 2013. When I reached along with my father Mr Vasudevan Nair (who is a senior citizen) at the Kurla workshop on 6th Aug 2013, we were made to wait for 5-6 hours only to inform us that the vehicle was still not ready for delivery and that we would need to visit the workshop again on the 10th of Aug 2013 After making me and my father wait for another 7-8 hours & making us pay a total of Indian rupees 90, 000/-, we finally could collect the car (vehicle MH-03-Z-1010) on 10th Aug 2013. On 12th of Aug 2013, the car broke down again and had to be towed to the workshop again. There after waiting for almost half the day we were informed that the ‘starter’ issue caused the problem and we were forced to purchase new batteries from the workshop store. I was also asked to pay rupees 3000/- for the towing charges without which the workshop would not release my vehicle. Hence I ended up On requesting to meet up with the General Manager- workshop @ Skoda service station-Kurla, i was denied the same. I had no option but to meet the GM and express my deepest regret at the way my case was being handled by him and his team. After making the payment, I received my car. The above incidents has left me shocked and following are my concerns which if not responded to, will force me to approach the consumer court for justice! Reasons for pathetic service & ill treatment to the client (Mr Vinod Nair & Mr Vasudevan R Nair – a senior citizen):  Client was asked to report to the service station on more than 2 occasions to collect the car but the workshop team failed to deliver  Personal belongings of the client were missing after the car was returned which cost rupees 15, 000/-  No courtesy shown by the General Manager to the client – Skoda Service station Kurla  Skoda emblem missing on the engine cover  Repair work cost kept changing (increasing)  No spare vehicle provided as part of the services which is also mentioned in every repair broacher printed by Skoda  Mental stress towards the client there by leading to a lot of frustration  Loss of time and additional per day travel cost of rupees 1000/- for 12 working days worn by the client  No courtesy shown towards a loyal customer who has been carrying this brand for more than 7 years  No proper check up done even after charging such exorbitant fees forcefully squeezed out from the client towards the repair
