Citibank — Credit card billing and forced payment before due date | |||
My Citi Bank credit card billing cycle is 22nd to 21st of each month and the ill gets generated on 22nd of each month and payment due date is 7th of next month. For the expenses incurred during the month of Feb and March, the bill was generated on 22.03.2016 and I received a message at 9.32 AM that your bill has been generated. However, at 3.20 PM on 22.03.2016 I received that the payment for card is overdue and my card was blocked with immediate effect. When I asked them, they are saying that I did not make full payment for last month, however, the card bill was paid in full by few reversals and I paid the balance amount and they never brought this to my notice in March after the payment was completed from my side. This month they forced me to pay card bill at least 15 days in advance, Kindly take note of this malpractice and help me get the resolution done. There is discrepancy between online statement and email statement as well. 1. My card should be unblocked immediately and in future if it is being blocked I should be intimated that this is going to happen. 2. They can't generate a bill at 9.32 AM and say that it is overdue at 3.20 PM on same day despite the payment due date is 15-17 days away. 3. This kind of arbitrary decision on part of the banks should be penalized and penalties paid to consumer for mental torture and financial blackmailing Was this information helpful? | |||
