Cognizant Technology Solutions — Constant extension for my date of joining

I'm Maitreyi, and I was assigned to cognizant CTS through campus placements. I had no idea such fraud was taking place at such large corporations. I shouldn't say it so soon, but it is what it is. I want to complain and will say out loud, "Do not accept this company's offer." I accepted and was placed, but because of the 2x rule, I couldn't even apply to the other companies in my college. They have now hired 800+ students, called some for training initially, and promised others that they would call us later. They have been regularly extending the date of joining for the past four months. They keep extending the date for joining as it approaches. Initially, my start date was set for early April 2023, but as the date approached, it was pushed back to late April, then early May, then late May, then in June, then recently. July 13, 2023, was confirmed, and this time I was certain it would not happen because I contacted them by writing emails and queries on their portal about this issue, and they consolidated me. However, it was put back to July 27, 2023, on June 28th, after multiple interactions and emails. My undergraduate career finished in May 2023, and I've been sitting at home for more than a month now, despite the fact that I was placed in campus placements. What if they keep extending my dates for a year, as they do for others? This is completely unacceptable. This is extremely unethical and immoral behaviour.

I've sent them over 20 emails, and they've all replied, stating things like "your date of joining is not yet confirmed, " "we will let you know, " and so on. At the very least, be practical with students. Inform us unequivocally that you will not be hiring. You're keeping us waiting! The worst part is that we don't have any contact numbers; on Google, just one number worked out of ten. I spoke with their customer service representative, and what he told me stunned me. He informed me that numerous students had experienced the same issue and that it had been happening for a year to a girl from Nagpur who had reported it to him. He was a good executive who advised me to prepare a compliance letter instead of waiting for the offer letter.

I only want to express to the esteemed organisation, Cognizant Technologies Solutions, that please have some ethics and compassion for the freshmen and students whom you hire. We students, as freshmen, are completely unaware of the games you play with our precious careers and lives! First and foremost, do not hire in bulk if you do not have enough calibre to even call us for training.

If you hire them, at the very least confirm that you will not contact them again! Please don't just keep prolonging your dates; send a confirmation email. Do not simply let us wait for you; if they receive any confirmation in a month or two, they will try looking for other options rather than waiting for your call. Not everyone has a backup plan, and not everyone is aware of the true brutality committed by organisations like yours!

Overall it is a kind humble sincere request if you are hiring students, freshers who you confirm after tests and interviews, it is your responsibility to guide them truly and honestly rather than luring and bluffing. Please have some ethics and morality towards hiring us as a prestigious firm!
