[Resolved]  Abn Amro — Credit Card Settlement Issue

Hi,

I was an employee and credit card holder of ABN Amro Bank. The statement for credit card was always an issue; I never used to get my statement on time. Since I was employee of Bank, I used to get the information about the outstanding amount through other internal sources and used to pay the dues on time.

After I left the bank, I completely missed the payment of last outstanding amount of some INR 6000/- odd, and as usual, I never got my statement. It is only when I got the call from the bank; I got to know about this out standing amount.

I immediately, contacted their local credit card division at Andheri for settlement. The lady on the counter told me to settle the outstanding amount and they will waive off the accumulated interest of about INR 2000 odd. Which I immediately agreed. She also promised that you will get the settlement letter from their Delhi credit card division.

Since I was employee of the bank and I knew that their credit card processing happens at Delhi, I never insisted for the letter immediately after the payment.

I patiently waited for the letter but now after about more than 2 years, bank people have started calling me for the outstanding interest payment. Every time new person calls me and I have to explain him the entire story again.

Now I am tiered of doing this. I even tried to contact that leady again, but she either have got transferred or she is no more working with the bank.

The bank is already in trouble, after RBS took over the operations, they want to sell off their retail banking division as that is not a profit making unit in the bank.

I am sure; with this kind of issues they will lose more business.

Regards,

Amol Kotak.

Today i.e. 27/05/2009, they went to my old office and they shouted & abused by using bad words to me and my other x-collegues & afetr that they called me and I asked them to come and meet me but when they came to meet me there were four people out of whom I was able to recognize one person i.e. Mr.Atiq ( Mobile Number-[protected]), and they asked me to make the payment of 15000/- on the spot.
Even though I requested them that I am not working now and right now I dont have that much money and also I asked them to provide me the time to repay the amount, but suddenly they started catching my arms and they started beating me because of which I got some injuries.

ABN AMRO — Credit card issue

HI My name is Rathish Madhkada

i have a complaint regarding the head service department of ABNAMRO bank

firstly they are not prompt in responding to the query and there is no time frame for their response
they reply as and when they like.

This complaint is regarding payment on my credit card

i had made a transsaction on the credit card
and dropped a cheque in the sky pack drop box well before the due date

and left to my native

aftrer returning from my native i see that the amount is still not cleared from my bank and by then
the collection executive had called and informed me about the payment dues

i explained the whole issue to him and he had appologised and informed that to make a payment immediately so no charges are levied.

later i se that there are latepayment fees and intrest charges charged to me

for which i complained to the customer care

since i did not receive a fair reply from the customer care i had esclated this case to the head service department

i have been exchanging mails with the head service department for a month
till date they are not ready to resolve my query

i would like to esclate this issue to a higher level as the person replying from the head service department is a useless person with some mental disorder who is not capable of handling complaints

i would need someone fromt he higher level to look in to this issue
and i am also looking for the contact number for the banking ombudsman to take up this isseu further

lastly - this is not the first time these people are charging me like this

regards
Rathish Madhkada

Hi,
I m also in a similar situation of harassment from ABN Amro Bank; and I m seriously pursuing them for an explanation from their Banking authorities. I ve also roped in the RBI for the same – RBI has advised me to wait for 30 days and to see if I get a satisfactory resolution of my complaint.

I ve marked my complaints to the following individuals:

You may do the same..
in.quality.[protected]@in.abnamro.com
[protected]@in.abnamro.com
[protected]@in.abnamro.com
[protected]@in.abnamro.com
vikas.[protected]@in.abnamro.com
kapil.[protected]@in.abnamro.com

at the same time... you could write into RBI Ombudsman: refer to www.rbi.org.in - check for Chief GM in Charge RBI - Shri Karuppaswami [Department of Banking Supervision] - you would find a telephone # as well.

Trust me: RBI response is faster than any other banking institutions...
@ Manjunath Prasad

Dear Prasad,

you should escalate this matter to rachna.[protected]@in.abnamro.com ; anil.m.[protected]@in.abnamro.com ; [protected]@in.abnamro.com.

Further you may write me if you wish any assistance.

Hi
I am getting many calls from ABN AMRO bank from delhi about offers even after registering DO not Disturb service. If I disconnect the call again they will call and eat the brain. Till last month I use to get too many calls even after giving compliant. This is very bad on bank management.

The other problem is my bill due date is 30th of every month but I use to get calls from delhi saying that this is a reminder call for bill payment and these questions.
1. When you will make the payment?
2. How you will make the payment?
3. How much you make the payment?
4. If you already made a payment through cheque, provide cheque number? if online transfer provide receipt number?

These all questions and calls are before due date, is this good? How they can ask all these questions by calling before due date. Assume what kind of mental toucher will be there if you not made payment before due date.

I have never made late payment for ABN credit card till date.

If they really want to remind about payment just sending sms will be fine.
Yes, abnamro bank credit card officials are extremely unprofessional. They harass with phone calls on sundays even if you are paying your dues regularly. They have been demanding late payment fees, even if we pay even before the due date. Different officials give different amounts to be paid by us.
