i was worked in the orchid balwadi pune . i need my PFmoney
Such schools are having greedy principals and they just love money. The dont know how much effort a parent has to put to earn the money especially when now a days the job security is no where.
This has become a common practice in Pune.
Last yeare Orchid School, Indira Kids and several other schools had done the same thing.

The issue is not limited to School, everyone from radi wala, bhaji wal, property dealer/builders even govt is using the same tactics( putting toll on roads, increasing registration fee and additional price of Electricity)

So in one ways govt is promiting it, and people keep paying
Yes I also agree with the above comments. The Chairperson of the Akshara International School is very greedy. She always run after money. She never listen to parents excuses If there is any problem with them. In 2010 session They have not only increased the fees but have done the day boarding compolusry. If anyone dont want to take this option he/she has no choice. You have to pay the money thats it. Such a big shame on these type of schools.
It's a curse to be born in a Third World country.

Basic school system is also not a standard provision here. After you end up paying taxes in every single thing that you want to have and no more left with anything for yourself, do not think your agony stops here. It has just started...

There are basic necessities like basic education facility that we parents have to bang our heads against - what not - every wall of the city, town and village wherever we live.

Govt is no where for your rescue. But, then there are thugs, thieves all around who runs school, colleges, hospitals, trusts, temple and what not. So there are so many small schools all around the town that charges like your 6 yr old is going to earn a medical or an MBA degree. You have no other option, but to let your kid out to one of these people where he will learn literature, culture, ideologies.

My kid also goes to Akshara. I have no other option, or I do not have any better option. Akshara is among the 99% schools that just runs and most of our kids supposed to grow there. So if you have choice to put your kid in rest 1% schools, then go for it.

Why? I am a beggar by option...so I can't chose...
Hi.. the construction of the school in incomplete and really don't know how they are going to take care of children in in this new premise where the construction work is still going on...

also the timings for 1st standard needs to be re looked as the school timings and travel time is crossing more than 9 hours ...imagine 6 yr old kid spends time whole day...at school and in the bus...

We all parents should have a common meeting with the school committe ..
This is a clarification on this posting from AKSHARA School and we would sincerely request parents to verify the facts with the School.

The Day School program for primary classes was offered to the parents for a year as special consideration. The Day School program for pre-primary classes is unchanged (i.e. which has timing from 8:30 to 12:30).

The Charges mentioned in this posting are for the "Day Boarding" Schooling pattern which the school started following from 2010 and is inclusive of all areas unlike the previous year charges which included only tution charges.

The "Day Boarding" program charges are inclusive of the following:
i) Tution charges
ii) Transport
iii) Four meals
iv) Uniform - 2 set of school uniform with shoes and socks
- 2 set of sports uniform with sports shoes and socks
- school blazer
v) Balewadi Stadium Sports Tie up for specialized coaching / training covering
Swimming, Badminton, Football, Volley ball and Athletics track
vi) Text books, notebooks, stationary and school bag
vii) Co-curricular activities
- Music, Vocal & Instrumental
- Dance (Bharat Natyam & Western)
- Origami
- Multi media (Drawing, painting and craft)
viii) Special academic assistance after regular classes

Hope this clarifies the issue.
Akshara is one of the Best Day Boarding School. It helps children to learn academic as well as activity in the school hours itself. The infrastructure and the facilities provided are excellent. Management is good and cooperative. Chairperson pays personal attention to monitor the sessions going on in school and also suggestions given by parents are taken care. Best school where the child can be and have a wonderful experience.

Money suckers with no quality education..!!
Akshara International School is very good for learning, sports and verious activitys.
Hi I have recently taken admission in Akshara, i found that during my visits to many school where in the infrastructure was impressive but the quality of education was ignored. More focus on after school activities was promoted. Akshara is a school where in i found good humble teachers & staff. They value parents time. In terms of fees, in all schools the fee range are between 1 lac to 1.40 lac approx hence in todays world the cost of eductaion has increased immensely. Its our choice as a parent to decide on factors influencing the school. We have schools were in fees are as low as 40k but as a parent we are too sensitive for our child hence we want to give them best in education .
I am sorry to comment like this but my impression of the Akshara School matches with some of the parents who have had a bad experience. I did not take admission but after reading the reviews & comments of some parents, I did have a talk over the phone with the school regarding the fees. OMG, the fees is so high for Day School itself? I don't understand the reason for charging such a high fees. I think we have to think twice now-a-days as to which school is very good in terms in education & fees both. We generally have a feeling that if the fees is high, then the quality of education is also very good which is actually not the fact. We have to actually ascertain these facts ourselves before we seek admission in the school.
I also agree fees of Akshara school is on higher side but education is not. Why school keep on increasing fees every year by 10 %. Do they increase there staff salary by same ratio.. .Does kids really need new school every year...
I have been to Akshara international school in May, 2015 for admission inquiry for my daughter in nursery and noticed that they have OPEN INDIAN TOILETS COMMON GOR GIRLS AND BOYS OF PRE SCHOOL. Yes, they are open, they do not have door and not even curtains. As a parent, I would like my child to understand that using toilet is a completely private activity and they should be covered when they are using toilets. Suggested this small change to the lady counsellor and found her very rude and arrogant in receiving a feedback. Of course, I did not take admission but I again visited the school in May, 2016 but the experience of open toilets and the rude lady counsellor was same. The school looks to be very adamant in even having curtains to close the open Indian toilets. And Yes, not to miss - lots of mosquitos in the reception area, not sure of the classrooms and other areas.
