[Resolved]  American Express — Outstanding amount

Executive from Amex cards reached me on phone and when i denied they said kindly see and this will be life time free card. Basis that i opted to have the card, but in whole one year this card was not widely accepted and only couple of transactions i did and repaid the amount. One fine morning i got SMS alert saying my o/s amount in Amex card No[protected] is 5000 plus and i got shock since i didnt spend any amount.. when enquired i was told that this is annual membership fee and later they waived off half of the amount and was having balance as o/s and today with accumulated interest on half of annual membershipt fee plus late payment it has come to tune of 4000 plus.

I have sent email to head customer service in amex to close the card and reverse all the o/s amount as nothing represents my purchase by utilising the amex credit card..

this is one of the worst card i ever had and acceptance is too pathetic.. collection of annual membership fee of 5000 is heights for a card which is not widely accepted and morever concealing the information to client as free is totally cheating. One time there was a call from collection agents and they were enquiring about my whereabouts and i told the person nothing is due from my end and please ask higher officials from the bank to give a call and do not involve in threatning activities by calling and enquiring whereabouts.

I hope they have reported to Cibil that i owe and have damaged my credibility in the markets.

please help me to come out of this and remove my name from cibil and also no due certificate from American Express.
