[Resolved]  ASO Terra Lingua Private Limited — Non Payment for Translators

Hello All,

Here is a Company called ASO Terra Lingua Private Limited that offers translation services and language services to customers.

They don't pay to their translators and cheat them.

You might have read complaints about Adith Mulitlingual Private limited in Bangalore.
SHARMILA - A woman who runs this company cheat their translators by not paying them.

Now in this company ASO Terra Lingua - A woman called LINCY runs the company and started cheating their translators without paying them.

They pay high rate per word to translators, and increase the interest of people to work with them. Once the translation work is completed they send P.O's to them.

Their usual payment terms is 45 days from the date of invoice. Once 45 days are over translators need to call them daily, send mails asking for payment. But they coolly give false reasons saying the concern person is on leave, directory is out India like that.

The people working in the company keep changing with in weeks time. They will job to translators before that job is completed they leave the job and if the translators ask for payment they say the person who gave you the job has left the job.

Most of the people who were working in Adith Multilingual - Fraud company are also working in this ASO terra lingua company. I feel both the company are same concerns.

If you are a translator, please for gods sake don't work with any of this two companies.

If anybody else have suffered because of these companies contact me @ [protected]@yahoo.com

Dear "Fannyman"

My name is Oliver, Im am the CEO of ASO Terra Lingua.

I ask you to stop with these false complaints and rumors.

1. We have nothing to do with a company called Adith Multilingual.
2. Ms. Lincy is our Training Coordinator and Receptionist in is not "in charge", and has definitely nothing to do with our translation department.
3. We have no outstanding payments. If your case would be genuine, you could come straight to our office and talk directly to me.
4. I checked with our translation team and there is no translator we are currently working with who has your email ID.
Dear Oliver,

I totally disagree with your answer to that complaint. Because Your company is doing the same thing to me also. You can ask your workers SEEMA (Coordinator) and KRISHNAN (Accounts Department). I didnt even get single rupee from the company. Your company has to pay me Re. 13, 771/- (70 days has gone. Still waiting for my payment) You can check with your records for details (Anitha Rex, Tamil Translator, Vellore.) Moreover, Today (16th December, 2010) Seema contacted and threatened me saying "Nothing will happen wherever you go, be it translationdirectory or even consumer courts". The other day Krishnan (Accounts department) shouted at me when I asked my payment.
Who is Shivu Krishna ? He is working in two companies at a time, Adith multilingual and ASO terra lingua.

If your company is a good company give answer to Ms Anitha Rex ?

I will surely come to your office directly with legal authorities to your company if continue to cheat translators and suck their blood by cheating us.

You have inquired about me with your staff's, have you asked them how many outstanding payments your company is having till date that are to be given to the translators.

You are in Switzerland, how do know that your company is not having any outstanding payments.

Why do you cheat translators like this without paying them. I have all the list of people whom you have not paid. I will bring everything to limelight if you continue to cheat translators.

If you guts tell me how many outstanding payments you have till date.

Your payment terms is 45 days, after 45 days you say you have not got payment from your client.

DON'T ARGUE HERE IN THIS WEBSITE. FIRST YOU PAY YOUR TRANSLATORS PROPERLY YOUR COMPANY WILL SHINE OTHERWISE YOUR COMPANY WILL SHUTDOWN SOON. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF BEING THE DIRECTOR OF THE COMPANY THAT IS CHEATING TRANSLATORS.

IF YOU CONTINUE TO NOT PAYING TRANSLATORS NO TRANSLATOR WILL WORK WITH YOU. THE MESSAGE I AM POSTING HERE WILL GO DIRECTLY TO SOME OF YOUR CLIENTS TOO. SOON YOUR COMPANY WILL BLACKLISTED SOON.

If your company is good one, then proof me. Give me phone numbers of translators whom you have paid.

Fellow translators are planning to take action against on your both companies Adith Multilingual and ASO Terra Lingua.

There wont be any other company in the world that cheats like Adith and ASO. In translation Industry, you both are very very WORST.
Hi everybody

I just came about this complaints forum about ASO Terralingua and really disagree with the two "translators" who are posting all these allegations on this site.

We are small group of freelance translators, based in the UK and are working nearly exclusively for ASO Terralingua since 3 months.

We provide superior quality and always met our deadlines and WE ALWAYS GOT PAID PROMPTLY AND ON TIME, SOMETIMES EVEN BEFORE THE DUE TIME!

It was and is a pleasure to work with a professional company like ASO and we will DEFINITELY CONTINUE continue to do translation projects for them!

Michele Mercier, Ivan Karlovski, George Fitzpatrick, Joshua Callahan
I DISAGREE AS WELL WITH THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOVE!!!

Like Michele I work with ASO for some time now. I do Russian - English - Russian translations and i did a lot of work for ASO Terra Lingua.

They are very professional in their approach and always paid me.

I understand that in our industry are many black sheep (Companies AND TRANSLATORS!). But clearly ASO is not one of them, at least I didn't have this experience.

I also will work with Aso in the future!

Nellya L.

ps: if somebody need a really good Russian translator please contact me: n.[protected]@hotmail.com
Hi All,
me too agree with the above words given by Michelle, as i too work with ASO .
Iam working with the ASO since 6 months.Till now i got my paymeny for my work.

I am not understanding that why these all roumours are creating by them and moreover the CEO of ASO terralingua asked you people(fannyman) to contact him directly, then why you are hesitating to meet him and again why you are asking for other translators details to contact them. If you are the true translator who has not been paid talk to them directly.

Iam also a freelance translator, who works for many companies. i saw few companies who had not paid for my hard work. but iam sure ASO is not such a company coz i got paid for my work till now.

Dont believe all such rumours and dont disturb your work coz of this nonsense.because we are going to loose the work but not all this people who creats this rumours.

Thanks
bina

For any translations contact [protected]@yahoo.com
I really don't know what all this fuzz is about.

I did various translation jobs for ASO Terra Lingua Pvt. Ltd. worth nearly 8000 USD. For every job i have done for them i got ALWAYS PAID ON TIME.

Me and my friends here in Bangkok will 100% work with ASO as there was no problem whatsoever until now!

Oh ! I feel Oliver will pay only for foreign translators only. What about Indian translators ? What about complaint about Ms. Anitha Rex's complaint.

See I dont have any personal problems with Oliver or ASO, If he had paid me properly, why I take up this matter to consumer complaints here.

How much time will take to post comments about Oliver and ASO, if he had paid properly.

In my earlier reply I had asked Oliver about the list of pending dues his company has to pay to translators.

Why he has not replied still.

How long it takes to create a fake email Id and post comments about himself in this forum
Dear "Fannyman"

There are a few points i have to clarify:
1. I asked you before to contact me directly (which you would do if you were for real). But you never did. You prefer to do a smear campaign which is not only unethical but also illegal (defamation).
2. you never mention your name nor what amount we are supposed to owe you, so obviously you are a fake
3. No company in the world publish their accounts in a public forum (which you should know), and why on earth sould i give you details about our accounts, even if we would have outstanding payments?
4. I bet you know all about fake email id's (fannyman?)

This is the last time i log into this forum, we have actual work to do (and i advise you to concentrate on your work as well). However, if you really would be for real, come to our office, state your case and we can talk about it. If not, please stop with this anonymous smear campaign.

Oliver
The sudden activity in this website shows how much ASO has worked overtime to salvage their face. I wish they showed that much promptness in clearing payments which is the heart of the issue. If ASO staff (Krishnan and Seema) had answered me properly, why would I comment on this forum? I know the psychological trauma I went through. The way other non-Indian translators have argued in this forum is totally out of place. If you have been paid properly by ASO, good for you. Lucky YOU!! Today I am going through hell. Tomorrow, you might - or even might not. That gives nobody any rights to report my concerns as "rumours". I don’t know about fannyman, but I am a real person with a real problem and ASO knows that very well. I am personally disappointed that this forum has been reduced to that of normal internet bickering sites, as though it was about some film reviews.
I wish this "Oliver" attended my calls or replied to my emails when I was running from pillar to post for my money. I know ASO will launch another campaign on my ‘quality’. Freelance translation industry is a hugely lopsided one favouring the middlemen agencies and agencies alone. Translators will rarely speak out, for fear of losing money. So have your kill! Get on with your exploitation! Let Justice prevail, if at all something exists in that name.
ASO - instead of fighting with people on websites, please get down to your work and try to solve real problems of real people, who have been talking to you for months together.
Oliver

It is with interest that I read the first line of your initial response to fannyman.

"1. We have nothing to do with a company called Adith Multilingual."

So is it mere coincidence that Sharmila Panikkal (founder of Adith) and Dipen Kanpal (Executive Assistant at Adith) have both posted 'likes' on the Facebook page for your company?

If this first statement didn't seem like so much of a lie, it might be possible to believe the possibility that people from Thailand, Russia and Europe would just happen to find a post about your company on a forum for consumer complaints in India. As it is, I find it very hard to believe.

It also reminds me of the tactics that Adith used in forums at first, when the initial complaints started. That was before they got blacklisted by the main freelance translator sites and ending up owing $19, 000 to just a small number o[censored]npaid translators.

Oh Oliver!

Now it's almost getting embarrassing!

http://propadoo.com/asoterralingua

Here are 6 people who have all given you great reviews. It includes a "group of Translators from the UK. We are working with ASO Terra Lingua for quite some time now and really like their professional approach." and is signed by Michele Mercier, just like above.

The thing is, her username is michelemercier01. And then there's richardclark01, and anjana01, abhishek01, jamesmcprice01 and mikecallum01. Now, the signup page for propadoo lets a new user choose any name they want. But it just so happens that these 6 people who allgave you good reviews, all chose to use a username that ended in '01'.

C'mon Oliver. If your marketing droids can't even make false reviews look genuine, it's a pretty poor show.

Of course, this makes the above post by Michele, Ivan, George and Joshua look even more like a lie. Which brings into question...well, everything positive that's been said about you.
I must apologise. Dipen Kandpal did not just 'like' you on your Facebook page, he says:

"Dipen Kandpal really looking fwd to this event...m sure all our efforts would fetch us some amazing results in times to come."

Our efforts? So he works for you now? But you have nothing to do with Adith?

Hole. Dig. Deeper.
And then:

The Facebook page says you were "Established in 2002, ASO TERRA LINGUA is a privately owned company based in Bangalore/India"

And look! Adith 'was incorporated on fifth of December 2002'. This proves nothing of course. No link can be inferred from this.

But the domain for asoterralingua.com was only created in July 2010. So you've been in business for 8 years without a website?

You seem to have joined the company around October so maybe you don't know what happened before. At least that's when you started putting the job adverts out. At the end of November you were looking for an accountant. Was this because you lost your last one, or had you been in business for 8 years without one?

http://jobs.oneindia.in/bangalore/finance-accounting-jobs/looking-accountant.htm...

But then you were only looking for an accountant for 'our small company'. Were they surprised when they found the small company included 'Our Teams of Linguists and IT-Specialists can translate your product into over 150 Languages and can handle every aspect from the software to support docs.'

Sounds quite large to me. I suppose I can't knock you for some marketing . You've got to sound bigger and better than you are. You need to talk up a business in the early days. It would be a shame if the facade crumbled before the fake reputation got spread wide enough to get a decent level of business coming in.

I guess it seemed to work quite well for Adith the last time. They did a similar thing. Very strong web presence. Terrible reputation soon enough though. Still, I guess Sharmila did alright out of it. It must be tempting for her to just repeat the same old winning formula with a new business.
A couple of things I forgot to mention:

Bina stated "Iam working with the ASO since 6 months". There is no evidence the the company has been around that long, except for the start date quote on the Facebook page.

The reviewers on http://propadoo.com/asoterralingua all only posted one recommendation, and that was for ASO. They have no other activity on their accounts.

The only Google references to the following people appear on this page. They have no other trace whatsoever. No website, no Facebook, no other forum post under the same email. Nothing:
Adung Shinawatra a.[protected]@gmx.com
[protected]@yahoo.com
n.[protected]@hotmail.com

There is a reference to Michele Mercier (other than the famous French actress) for translating "Aures nouvelles du Bengale" in 1989 so maybe she is real.

However as far as her associates are concerned, Ivan Karlovski is possibly the son of a famous Bulgarian family but appears nowhere else except here. There are very many 'George Fitzpatrick's, but "George Fitzpatrick translator' shows the top result as this page. And the same applied to Joshua Callahan.

Maybe I'm just wanting this to look like a tissue of lies and it's all completely genuine. Then again, maybe the evidence is showing that it's all just made up. It doesn't look good does it.
The Facebook page also shows a founded date of 23. August 2005 in a different place. It's difficult to know what to believe isn't it?
Both are same company... Same management..

Never trust them
Dear Oliver,
I am also one of the victims of your company.
I had done the first job for your company in the second week of November. And I did several small jobs for your company after that. In the mean time I also heard a complaint against your company on Translator Directory.com. But I keep on working for you company. But after 45 days when I wrote to your account department (Mr. Ravi), they replied that the will release payment after 31 December. And the in the first week of January, I again wrote a mail regarding the payment, I got no reply. And after that I contacted to Ravi on phone and he said that he will release my payment in the second week of January. Then I told him that till that my next invoice will also be due, and he said that he will release both payments. But after completing the second week I am trying to contact to your department but know body is receiving the call.
So This is the case with your company Mr. Oliver.

Rajul Kumar
(Hindi Translator)
How the HELL do we contact you Mr Oliver?? When ever i call, your people say you are OUT OF TOWN for some F...C83G meeting!
Guys lets do something against them now. I have a feeling that they are the same as Adith Multilingual.
I had forgoten my payment from Adith (40k+) and asked them never to contact me ever again. But if its gets confirmed that they tricked me again by making a new company, then God swearing, you guys are gonne pay heavily.
