[Resolved] Barclays Bank Plc (Credit Card) — Account not closed in spite of full closure of EMIs taken on card dues plus prepayment charges | |||
I had a credit card with Barclays Bank and had availed EMI payment option through ECS which I wanted to close by making one time full payment. After requesting for the same I was asked to pay Rs. 23,072/- on 16/6/2010 and in that month statement they also charged prepayment charges. Inspite of making complete payments ON 16/6/10 an ECS presentation was made to my Bank account on 28/6/2010 and also in following months. Then I was told by bank telephone caller that some preclosure charges are still left so card has not got deactivated and I need to make another amount of Rs. 700/- and that was made on 12/8/2010. Still another call came in month of Sept. 2010 for payments and when I explained the entire matter they arranged a call from Barclays Bombay Collection dept. and Mr. Sunil Sharma who apologised for the troubles incurred and assured that card will be closed and I can tear the card by making one last payment of Rs. 110/- which was made on 19/9/2010. Barclays — Closing of credit card
I have made payment of Rs. 8389 through ICICI cheque No. 446224 for my last credit card bill on 30.11.10. But next day i got a message from you that my cheque has been dishonoured by some reason. I called to your Customer care several times for reason but they were unable to tell reason but they said since i have got a message so i have to pay another cheque. Then i talked to customer care of ICICI, they said that Barclays has sent them scan copy of cheque and that is not my fault. After that I made a online payment of Rs. 8389 on 03.12.10. My transaction ID was MICI[protected]. and i have stopped the cheque. Then I got a msg from Barclays that payment of Rs. 8389 has been made for card no.-XXXXXXXXXXXX0017. The issue was over that day. But yesterday i.e, on 07.12.10 i again got a message from Barclays again that my cheque no.-446224 has been bounced for payment stopped by drawer. Now this is the limit of stupidity. When i talked to Customer care they said i have to pay Cheque bounce charge.Pl resolve this... I am not going to pay any amount.Pl close my credit card bcz i don't want to continue with Barclays. I have cleared all my debit before last payment date.
