Lenovo 3000 N100 battery problem — Lenovo 3000 N100 battery problem

Hi,
I have purchased a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop on 20.04.2006. Product ID: 3000 N100 0689.
From last week (1st week of Oct 2008), my laptop battery is not charging. It says 67% charging, but it never worked on battery since then. Upon removing the power cable the laptop dies immediately.
Earlier it was giving some 2hrs of backup.
As the warranty was only for 1 year, so nobody at Lenovo (Call Center and all serice stations) is actually listening. They only have one standard statement, "If it is out of Warranty, You have to buy a new battery costing Rs. 7, 100/-)

In few of the forums I saw that lots of customers had similar complaint with this series of Lenoo Laptops. I doubt like others if they have pre-programmed that the battery will stop working after the warranty of 1 year gets expired.
Obviously Lenovo does not sell laptops saying that the Battery will not last for even 3 years. It is not about Warranty, but the real issue is the product has to function properly even after warranty. Nobody would buy a laptop if we need to invest on battery every 2-3 years.

I am trying if someone can help. If nothing works I may even File a Lawsuit against Lenovo under Consumer Court.

Yesterday we read an article on your website
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-69671

According to this article they state to call at IBM support i have called and they did not register my complaint instead told me to contact you as this was earlier registered through Web. i would appreciate a callback on this issue soon.

I have bought a lenovo laptop 300 N100 on june 2007, which battery has stopped working suddenly after 15 months, warranty period has been expired . It's backup has been zero at this time.I asked to lenovo service centre but they said to me to buy a new battry on price of Rs 5500.

It is not good that a battery used to expired in just 15 months. If it happens nobody will buy lenovo laptops.
Even I bought in last year november, a fighter series laptop which now is giving me battery back up of just 2.15 hrs. Many of my software professional friends say that every machines battery gives same problem if its frequently overcharged, since then i hve become cautious about overcharging of my machine. But still I have to look for my service center before my warranty expires as well as the problem worsens.
Some times I fell why dont these laptops have the function of disconnecting the AC charger atomatically when the battery charge is full, as many o[censored]s are busy in our work and forget the charging component of the machine. If it does then people like me who are not computer professionals will not face such unaffordable problems.

Any ways some body please enlighten on my quiry ...

Lenovo — about battery charging of my Laptop n100 series

I have puchased a laptop n100 series one year before. Now the battary of the laptop is not being charge. Only laptop can be operated by Electricity. So, please provide me solution for battary charging, although before 2-3 days the battary backup of the product is good. So, please suugest me about my problem
i brought my laptop on august 2007, and my battery gets drastically reduced from 65% to 0% ... similarly as someone complaint about in the consumer complaints above. dont know what to do, but if this is the quality that these companies are selling their products with who would be the ultimate ... to be stayed responsbile for this kind of problem, because no similar problem can happen at two different places, and this is no coincidence, technically only lenovo men knows...
I have purchased Lenevo 0768-A75 series in June 07. The battery of the same was working fine up to Aug 08 (approximately 14 months). Suddenly it stopped charging. I was not able to understand how it can fail suddenly. If battery is not working, charging should reduce gradually not suddenly. it will cost me around 6000, if it will happen next time also how can one suggest to other to purchase this series of laptop.

give me justice

lenovo laptop N100 3000 series — battery charger

Problem : 1. I had purchased the laptop on 24th August, 2007 and few days back laptop battery suddenly stopped working. It does not charge when connected to the system with the AC adapter. The system used to function only with the AC adapter attached. The system was not function on battery alone.
2. Since yesterday the AC adapter also stopped working and machine doesn't start. I had got it checked from Service Center who told that both battery and AC adapter needs to be replaced.

Though I am aware that my machines is "out-of-warranty", I read an article (document ID MIGR-69671 dated[protected] on lenovo website (link given below)
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-69671

It says that such batteries are replaced free of cost till 18 months from purchase. Though Its just been 16 months since my purchase and I complete all the criterias for replacement, Lenovo says that THE PROGRAM ENDED in OCT 2008.
I think this is unfair as they should continue the programme or put a battery recall. Kindly help.
Hi, I purchased my Lenovo Y410 in Thailand in March2008.From last two weeks i am facing major problem as it is automatically shuting down afetr 30min.I dont have International warranty. Now i need to purchase a new one this is very dishearting.I will never suggest anyof my freinds to purchase Lenovo products.
I bought my Lenovo (3000 N100) in Stanford (USA) and ever since I have only problems with it. Battery stopped charging. Now it often shuts down suddenly by itself. I just regret for buying it in the first place.
I had bought my laptop 3000 N100 2 years back and the only problem i had ever faced is the battery. I had seen it is the problem of most of this laptop user, and it's intresting that the problem is very same, for last 3 months after my battery reaches 65% it just comes to 0 % in few moment and for last 2 days battery is not charging and machine is running only on AC power. How it's possible the same complain is with no.o[censored]sers which resembles the fact that the machine has the problem. If so, then I'm sure that the rate of consumers are sure to decrease day by day.

. Company holds such a huge Brand Image

lenovo 3000N100 — SCREEN DISPLAY

SCREEN DISPLY IS JUST TOO BAD, SHOWS NEGATIVE IMAGES. SOMETIMES ALL OF A SUDDEN NORMAL BUST MOSTLY DIFFERENT COLORS ARE SEEN, PLEASE HELP
I have the same problem. I bought mine in May 2007. I usually stayed at home so I removed the battery to avoid overcharging. When I tried to re-attach the battery it is not charging anymore. And so I permanently connects to AC power since then, After a couple of months, my machine shuts off with no reason at all. The fan is still running. It usually happens even a few minutes from starts up. I brought my machine to Lenovo Service Center and the engineer told me that the board is corroded. How in the hell my board get corrosion when no liquid has been spilled there since I bought the laptop. Searching the net and finding that there are lots of this product defective, I won't buy any Lenovo products anymore. It's sucks. My money has been wasted.
