[Resolved]  BIG TV — Customer Care and After sales Service

I have purchased an Big TV with Max Pack 1yr Subscription. As per the advertisement shown and the promotions all the packages are there in max pack. But after a week of installation suddenly the NDTV package was not available in my subscription. I have called to customer care 1st time and they have said this is temporary prob and will be resumed in half an hr.
After 2 hr i have called when i did not received the NDTV channels and than the other guy has said you need to recharge for that package. When i enquired about that more why it is required he said he was wrong and the services will be resumed within max 24 hrs. I logged a complaint.
Even after 24 hr the same problem comtinued and i have call the customer care again. At that time the new guy was not able to trace my previous compaint no and than he asked me to logged a new complaint and wait for 48 hr.
In the mean time while discussing the bad experiance of Customer care, i daid i had made a worng decission to buy Reliance Big TV and he said " You Should Have Thought Before Purchase" . I was shocked what a ustomer Care. As i have spend Rs.5000 on this i had no other way to get rid of this but to continue. The proble is continued and after 15 days out of 7 channels of NDTV nor i am getting 2 channels and as per their policy i need to pay Rs.40 if i want the other channels.

I would like to request all the readers and all persons not to buy the RELIANCE BIG TV. Please save your money.

These people will suck your money.

I have subscribed for Starter 3 (product code –[protected] month subscription in the month of March 09. When I subscribed this package, I was offered to get 104 channels including UTV Movies and Filmy (both Hindi Movie channel). I have three complaints and none are being resolved after several contacts with Big TV customer care toll free number and visiting dealer’s showroom.

Complaint 1: On the internet site (http://www.bigtv.co.in/longtermpacks.html#) and on Big TV help menu appearing on my TV set, its being published that for Starter 3 pack, 104 channels are offered however when I contact Customer care number, I was advised its not 104 channels its only 91 channels which I will get. Can you explain where the discrepancy is? Why are you advertising for 104 channels and providing only 91 channels? Can you list which are the channels being provided currently under this scheme? I had contacted the Big TV email support ([protected]@bigtv.co.in) many times for this query but no response was provided(attached is the email for your ref)



Complaint 2: Complaint ref #[protected] I had registered a complaint in regards with UTV Movies not being viewed and Big TV customer care responded saying, due to public demand Big TV has replaced UTV Movies with Filmy channel. I had paid the amount of Rs.2096/- for long term starter 3 pack, and you would remove it without my consent!!! I was not contact or consulted to know what are my requirements, then why did you swap the channel? When I subscribed this package, I was offered to get 104 channels including UTV Movies and Filmy (both Hindi Movie channel) and I need both.
I was promised that complaint ticket will be resolved within 2 working days and its been more than 2 working weeks without any response.

Complaint 3: From past 1 week, we are not able to view Sahara One and Filmy Channel. What is the reason behind it? When contact customer care, they say the service will resume in 30min or so, but its been more than a week that we are not getting the service.




Many of the customer care officer are so irresponsible, unknowledgeable and disrespectful to disconnect the phone without any response. They keep the customer on hold for long and just disconnects the phone after long wait. To get my contact number changed, I had to call more than 5 times. When asked what the email id to escalate / post my complaint – they responded there is no such email id! What a shame!!!

My sincere request is to kindly look into this matter and provides appropriate resolution to me and other customers. I shall wait for your prompt & customer friendly response.

It has become horrible to get connected to customer care. More than 2 hours i have been tryingto contact customer care to inform about recharging certain channels required by us, but in vein.
I do not know the reason for not lifting the phone to answer, only recorded msgs coming and then
disconnects. The service has become very poor..The Management should take care of all the
complaints and rectify their faults and improve the services as it was during the initial period.
Otherwise they may have to close down the Reliance Big TV services and people will opt for
other better services rendered by other TVs.
