[Resolved]  Subway — Cheating & Misrepresentation

The complaints regards to the following:

1. Measurement standard on Product – Coke was 400 ml (as mentioned on glass in which it was served) whereas receipt was given for 16 oz which i do not understand and as far as i know the same are not permitted in Standard Units of Weights and Measures.
2. I was charged RS. 35=00 for Coke – 400 ml (as mentioned on glass in which it was served) whereas the served Cold Drink was not chilled and all advertisements of COCA COLA mention the same to be served as chilled. On asking for Ice Cubes the same was denied to the served and i had to content with WARM COLD DRINK whereas the amount charged @ Rs. 35=00 is against the services provided by the outlet, SUBWAY INFINITI MALL (includes SUBWAY) in this case is higher than MRP of bottled COCA COLA and the same has been permitted under the admission by such stores that they serve the beverage chilled and requires refrigeration, provision of ice, etc. which was not done in this case.
3. Also the brochure / leafer which was provided at the same store depicts a picture of COCA COLA glass topped with ICE whereas the product served was nor chilled nor Ice Provided and the same has been confirmed by STORE MANAGER who infact challenged to go to any authority as serving ice and chilled COCA COLA is not required which is in contradiction to the amounts charged, advertisements of COCA COLA, SUBWAY Brochure made available at the store. The Store Manager infact threatened & abused me on being asked to stamp and acknowledge the same on the receipt behind which was ultimately done on persuasion & arguments of other colleagues with me present at store.
4. Receipt date is 08th September 2008 whereas the date was 08th August 2008 which brought to notice at the store

I also hereby request the concerned authorities to take stern action against SUBWAY INFINITI MALL & SUBWAY as above and i am sure that since SUBWAY is an international brand and has been franchising the stores with their practices, brand name, etc. the same procedures are being followed as all 123 retail outlets of the SUBWAY in the country. This amounts to cheating to the public at large and a detailed inquiry be instigated against them. I also demand that they be also be intimated & ordered to display the following at all their stores:

1. Beverages & Cold Drinks Served Chilled. Ice Provided on Request
2. All Measurements of Beverages be as the Standard Units (ml.)

Infact the above should be made a strict rule where ever Cold Drinks are served and specially where Beverages are served with Dispensing Machines.
