[Resolved]  Chennai Corporation And Ramapuram Panchayat — Damaged roads and accidents

Address:Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu

Sir/Madam

I am living in 23rd Cross Street, Venkateswara Nagar, Ramapuram, Chennai for the past 8 years. Here
the roads are in severely damaged condition beyond imagination and posing a great risk for two wheeler
riders like me during rainy days. Two accidents have already happened across this street recently. The
roads are in such a dire state for many years and the Ramapuram panchayat people have shown no interest in repairing the roads after so many requests were made. I would like to request people from Chennai Corporation to visit this place and see for themselves the pathetic road condition and take some action to repair the roads.

I strongly agree on this, i live in this area for more than 15 years and currently i stay in Valluvar Salai stretch.

7-8 years back Valluvar Salai(Main Road to connect Mount Poonamallee Road and Arcot Road) was less congested and there were free movement of traffic. Due to DLF IT park, Olimbia IT park and sub urban develoment this raod became very congested and always there is traffic block in th 2-3 km stretch.

I dont see panchayath is taking any step to widen the road or arranging pedestrian pathways.

Due to this pathetic road, yesteryday one student around 14 years old had lost his life by lorry over run when he was riding a bike.

Request some one to take this up with Chennai Corporation or relevant authority.
complaining in a forum like this will not solve your problems.take the panchayat president head on!go and talk to him directly.i live in ramapuram too and i find this area uninhabitable!lets join together and fight the system because these people are corrupt beyond imagination!reply to this message i[censored] r willing to take things a bit more seriously.adios!!
ramapuram is horrible.its not possible to live in a area like this
At the junctionof Ramapuram arasamaram, it is very difficult to driv either two wheelr or four wheeler because that junction is a very small road and for turning on either side is very difficult because all the four roads meet at this place and the vehicles are trying to go ahead which results in congestion in that corner and vehicle got stuck. Due to this on the four roads heavy traffic which takes minimum 15-20 minutes to overcome that junction. This is, ainly because of the less width of the road whic is to be widened. But so far no action has ben taken place and it was told that panchayat has issued notice to the shops toclear and they have gone to the court. I am staying in that place for more than 15 years and I have not seen any development or improvement in the roads. If it is widened traffic congestion will not occur. Moreover, a signal is to be installed at Arasamaram junction so that traffic congetion will not be there. SRM college buses are plying in the mornign as well as in the evening continuously which occupied the road and even for walkers cannot walk on the road.Whereas in the tiruvallur road connecting Poonamalle road there is one coovum river which is to be built with small bridge otherwise during rainy season all the water are passing on the road and the walkers cannot walk.
I strongly agree with the above complaint that the road in Ramapuram are extremely damaged and no govenrmnet is taking an action to rectify the issue. As an association this issue need to be resolved. Recently Royala nagar main road was prepared for laying roads and it was abruptly stopped after the elections. When asked the panchayat head gave an answer that because they have have not won the elections the road laying was stopped abruptly. It is ridiculus how every thing works in India. We pay so much of tax to the govenment and no benefit is obtained in-turn. The government is too corrupt and no one is there to question their authority.
