[Resolved]  Chennai Corporation And Ramapuram Panchayat — Connecting sewage tank to waste water pipe and damaged roads

I am living in 23rd Cross Street, Venkateswara Nagar, Ramapuram, Chennai for the past six years. As we didn't have proper waste water disposal facilty and due to the inaction by Ramapuram panchayat to provide use this facility we collected Rs. 2500 from each house and laid the waste water drain pipes. This one is in particular reference to the house door no. 57 of porur, just opposite to 23rd cross street, venkateswara nagar. There are tenants on the ground and first floor. Their sewage tank is filling up quickly and so they dug up the road on the 23rd cross street, venkateswara and connected the pipe to the waste water pipe. The road is already in pathetic condition and now it is posing a great threat to two wheeler riders like me. Drinking water pipe connection was laid just below this waste water pipe.. now sewage water has started to mix with the drinking water. In spite of complaining to the ward member of 23rd Cross st, Venkateswara Nagar, Ramapuram one Mr. Sundara Vadivelu and even to the Ramapuram panchayat leader, no concrete action was taken to stop this. I would really appreciate if some officials from the Chennai Corporation could visit the place and see for themselves the pathetic condition we are living in. I would also appreciate if some roads are laid at least now and prevent any more accidents from happening.

Respected Sir,

I am living in venkateswara nagar, ramapuram for the past six years at 21st cross street, since the day the drinking water pipe lines are laid noopt even a single day we enjoy with the pure drinking water without seweage water mix. This is because of the main pipe lines are not of good quality and not a single length pipes. There are so many joints everywhere and the seweage water is going in to the pipelines through the joints. When ever we complain about the leakage of water they are not replaced with good quality ones. In this connection I lodged the complaints to the panchayat office in person and to the ward member Sundara Velu personally, but the result in action is nothing, The residents of this entire area is enjoying only seweage water as metro water. Also there is no proper arrangements for removing the wastages as all the open lands are filled with garbages and the entire area is smelling like anything. Hope some higher officials from the Chennai corporation will visit and do the needful to the residents of Venkateswara Nagar.
Sir,

I would like to recall my comment dated 3rd, August 2009, please be informed that the panchayat people repaired the drinking water pipe in front of my house today around 3.00 PM and inthe evening as usual they opened the valves to supply water for the residents, but the same pipe has again broken and the entire water was coming out. This is because within the span of one meter there are three joints which was not done correctly. Insted they can replace a full length of pipe to avoid digging the earth repeatedly. Ultimately the residents are suffering without drinking water since three days.

Hope the corporation officials will open their eyes and visit the area and see the negligence of the panchayat officials.
Dear Sir,
I live in 8th Street, Ganesh Avenue, Shakti Nagar, Porur - therefore this complaint may actually be for the Porur Panchayat.
The 8th Street was dug up for laying the water pipeline and now its over 2 weeks and they have not properly repaired it yet.
Could someone see that the road it made motor-able again?

THe whole street and neighbouring empty lands are getting flooded and causing unhygeinic situations. As a side note this building has unauthorized floor constructed. Request the panchayat authorities to take necessary action.

Sir, this is with regard to the health hazards in sakthi nagar, gangaiyah avenue, 1st and 2nd left street, (opposite to nellai hardwares) Ramapuram chennai 600089 due to sewage water accumulated in empty lands in the above said area.

3 homeowners in one of the above streets have let there sewage water into this one empty Land. One could actually see these pipes pouring sewage water into the land. These 3 homeowners have at least 5 rental portions in their buildings which makes it worse. They don't have a proper sewage system.
People fall sick in this area and their are loads and loads of Mosquitos.

Somebody please help us by taking necessary action. We have children who fall sick all the time with loose motion and vomiting. I could even send pictures as a proof if needed. Please please take action.

Sir
We are living in Ragavendra Nagar Ist Main Road and would like to bring to your attention that sewage disposal line was commissioned 2 years before still water logging and stagnant water lying in our street here and there. There is no proper action taken for this and each time we have to call the municipal authorities to rectify this. Till date they could not find out what is the root cause or no meeting with the residents by the higher officials ? As we are already prone to diseases this becomes an added weapon and breeding centre for mosquitoes and dogs. Sometimes we wonder whether we are living in a city or in remote villages? Our request is to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take necessary action to stop this stinking problem
