[Resolved]  Chennai Packers and Movers — Complaint on the transportation of Goods and Car from Delhi to Chennai

I shifted from New Delhi to Chennai as I got a new job. I hired Chennai Packers and Movers for shifting my household goods and car from New Delhi to Chennai. However, I faced and facing lot of issues in regard to the shifting by Chennai Packers:

1. First, they brought less packing material and hence the packing could not be done properly
2. They did not number and list the goods properly for identification and storage. Hence, there was a complete mess up.
3. They did not bring adequate size lorry for loading the materials and as a consequent of this, the material has be to loaded twice, to s small vehicle and bigger vehicle with lot of hardship, that too in the night, after lot of delay and waiting
4. The Manager was not ready to provide the consignment notice and he had to be insisted to provide the same for allowing the material to go, at New Delhi.
5. Due to the above hardships faced, I spent money to send my driver to load my vehicle in the lorry on 06.07.2008.
6. The material did not reach in the same lorry as promised in New Delhi and it was again shifted to a small lorry in Chennai
7. The material was unloaded and the manager was not ready to unload all the things in the boxes as promised while booking the consignment
8. Due to the above and the numbering problem, I could not find that I have received all the material.
9. After opening the boxes, we found out that many items are missing and we could not ascertain that how many boxes are really missing.
10. Written complaint has been given to Chennai Packers and there is no response.
11. The Car is yet to reach me on 30.07.2008. They promised that the car will reach my residence in Chennai within 10 days.

Due to the above, I am totally disappointed with the service of Chennai Packers and has to undergo mental agony to the disappointing service. The customer service officials were not courteous and were very rude. I have paid insurance for the articles to the extent of Rs.9000/-.

Consequences : I had to face lot of issues due to this.

My mother was admitted to the hospital in Chennai for a major operation and I could not use the Car for serving her. I have lot atleast Rs.10, 000/- worth of material due to this. Actually I do not know the extent of damage due to numbering issue of the items and boxes.
