[Resolved]  Doeacc — To make Railway parcel service a civilized one

Dear Mr .Minister

This is from a young Engineer who traveled from Ouilon to calicut and utilized the Railway parcel service to carry his motor bike(kL16-B 9809). I paid Rs.230 at Kollam railway station (as the fee+ insurance charge) to send my vehicle, wide receipt No: G892153 dated[protected].It was not clear from both the receipt and railway officials that whether it includes the loading and unloading charges ,at the same time they send me to the porters who insisted me to pay Rs .300 towards loading charge and refused to issue any receipt for the same. While reaching Calicut the concerned delivery official collected the receipt and refused to return the same and issued me a small paper piece that has a number Qln 2153 A ,the one which is claimed to be the gate pass. The RPF official who verified the so called gate pass adviced me to meet the porters and pay the money to collect the vehicle, I insisted to pay Rs.50 too .

Sir
From the above said facts one can easily understand that the procedures following in Railway parcel service is highly uncivilized and their customers are heavily harrased and exploited by a group of railway staff and porter .So I request you to consider the following
1. Starting a prepaid counter at the railway station can ensure the reasonable luggage charges and can avoid direct cash dealings with the porters.
2. Display detailed and sufficient information regarding the parcel mobilization in front of all parcel offices.
3. Any cash reception by railway porters directly from the customer is to be treated as bribery.

Expecting your judicious decision in this regard

Faithfully
