[Resolved]  GARP — Credit Card Issues

Dear Team,

"An international educational institute has charged membership renewal fee on my credit card. I was their student last year and did the payment transaction through my credit card. This year I got the mail from institute that my membership will be automatically renewed, following which I had requested them to disable my membership and I got the confirmation from the Institute that the automatic membership is disabled on my account.

But later on I got to know from my bank that the institute has charged the membership fee. When I have mailed the institute mentioning that I was charged for membership, even when my membership was disabled, the Institute replied back stating that they have not charged anything this year and I was only charged last year. Further to this email, I replied back attaching my card details which clearly shows the amount charged by them. But now they are not responding and I have send series of emails. The bank is saying that the amount has already been credited to Institute and they can only help when I provide them the credit note and acknowledgement from the Institute mentioning the dispute transaction. I doubt that Institute would revert to me"

Could you please guide, how should I proceed?

Looking forward to hearing from you, I would forward you further details as per your request,

In my case,

I couldn't check Garp's renewal alert email since I was on army service.
So I couldn't answer to the mail.

And $150 was paid from my credit card.
Garp judged that I agreed to renewal by reason that only I didn't answer to the mail.

It seems really unlogical and illigal.

I heard that Garp will refund if I request in 60 days from payment date.
But they didn't check my refund request mail yet.
I encountered the same problem, I sent email to GARP requested not to renew the menbership but they still charged on my credit card. I sent several emails asked for refund but none of them was replied.

The 60 days time limit is approaching, anyone knows what should I do?
in my case, I also did not check the email because GARP sent so many emails to me. I almost did not check their emails until I found the credit card payment for membership without my permission. I have sent the email to GRAP to requst to refund.

It is really unlogical and illigal and GRAP store my credit card info. for more than one year for charge me membership fee.
