I had faxed on 27th Dec'07 to cancel my GE cash card. I faxed on [protected] as per customer support's advise. I did not get any confirmation response.
I called up customercare, they told me to again re-fax it. I again faxed on the same number on 12th Jan'08. But no response even for this as well. I have both the sent fax proofs.
I approached customer care(Ganesh) on phone on 25th Jan'08, he told me that my card's cancellation process is in progress, And I do not have any outstanding amount. The card is going to be closed in a while.
I stopped getting all the comunications from the bank, I considered that my account was closed.
But surprisingly, after one and half year I got the statement. It is saying me that I have a total outstanding balance of Rs4, 272.60/-. This is the anual fee and it got multiplied with all of kind of other charges. Before sending the cancellation request, I had got the confirmation from customer support to pay only the amount that I had utilized. During that time, I paid the same amount by cheque.
During my first fax, I had very clearly stated that due to the annual fee and poor customer care support, I am cancelling the card.
This is disturbing me now.
