[Resolved]  Hanuman Motors, Udupi — Indecent & Unprofessional behaviour

Me and my friend visited Hanuman Motors in Udupi, a showroom of Tata cars to see the Nano. I really admired the Nano for the space inside, couldn't get a test drive. So i planned to test drive the Safari and they gave me a vehicle which had not undergone any tests after they got it from the factory. The sales staff who came with us told that PDI wasn't done and still it was okay taking this vehicle out on the road. A/C was not working, power steering was ineffective, and brakes were not up to the mark. Please note, the model which they gave us had ABS installed.

Coming to the point, my friend drove the vehicle on a highway and just crossed 60km/hr and lost control of it. The vehicle which had ABS skid nearly 4 times and hit a compound wall on the road side. But we escaped without any scratches. Strong vehicle though.

Back in the showroom the sales staff are asking us to pay for the wall we damaged and they will repair the vehicle with the insurance. According to a lawyer in case of an accident the third party damage (wall) is also covered by insurance with the vehicle. The showroom sales staff are not agreeing and are asking us to pay 15, 000Rs. They even detained us there in the conference room of the showroom. We had a very bad argument there. They were very unprofessional in dealing this matter and incapable too. They don't know know a bit of how to deal with customers. They even threatened us that if we don't agree to pay for the wall they won't be responsible for the after effects!! This is the way they deal with their customers and guests. A very bad situation there. To make them understand we had to call the police as advised by our lawyer. We even went to the police station to file a case against them for harassing us and detaining us in the showroom. After telling them this they came to an agreement that they will pay for the wall.

Anyone who is planning to buy a vehicle there, beware! These people at Hanuman Motors are polite only at the beginning and not if there's a situation like i faced.

Dear Sir,
On Monday 12th April at about 10.30am two young boys named Samuel Abrham and Kiran visited our showroom. They had come to see the TATA NANO which was on display at that time.After they were satisfied about whatever information they wanted about NANO, They asked for a test drive of our safari. Every new vehicle which enters our premises first goes through a thorough check-up and if we feel that the vehicle is valid for a test drive only then the vehicle is given for the test drive.
Our sales executive went along with them for the test drive .He complained many times to the person who was taking the test drive not to drive rashly.But the driver lost control of the vehicle at one point and crashed into a compound wall.The driver and his friend first agreed to pay Rs 15000/- to the owner of the compound and then suddenly they tried to run away from the spot.But due to the presence of mind of our executive they were persuaded to come back to the showroom.Once inside the showroom they started blaming the executive all the sales personell and the showroom staff.They blamed the vechicle also.Even then we tried to calm them and offered cold drinks to make them relax from the experience.
The owner of the compound came to our showroom to settle the matter.At this time he refused to pay the damages to the owner of the compound and he called the police.The police came and understood the matter and our management being generous, ordered the repairs of the compound wall at the cost of the management.
This complaint of Mr.Joel given us great shock, because despite all that had happened at no point had our executives spoken harshly or rudely with them.

I Dont Agree With The Complaint As I have Experienced The Way they treat a customer at hanuman motors, udupi. Its really warm feeling. They even deal with the matter in a pleasent way. I Am A Proud Customer of tata owning more than 5 tata vehicles. before i was going to auto matrix for any problems with my vehicles but now my place is at hanuman motors. Hence I Totally Disagree With This.
I feel their service is excellent. I never had any such experience with them. The management and the staff are very polite and extremelly courteous.
I have not observed any such o[censored]nwanted behaviour from the Tata Motor employees. They were very friendly and provide good service

I totally disagree with the complaint. I am treated royally at Hanuman Motors.
I feel there are lot of issues with the Hanuman Motors Tata Showroom. The first and foremost thing is that the showroom is in such an interior place. The roads to the showroom is so narrow. I am not aware how a permission was granted to build a showroom in such a narrow raod. I believe this was done to save cost. There is a lot of difference between the maruti and the tata showroom. Maruti Showroom has lot of space. The service provided Maruti folks is also good. The staffs is very helful at Maruti Showroom. However i have seen a very indifferent behaviour at Tata Showroom. I think there is a lot of room for improvement. The management needs to do something about it.
I totally agree with Sadananda Acharya. These corrput politicians and government officials grant permission to these business men to build these bulidings where the road margin is so less taking bribe. Tomorrow they will use the tax payers money and pay these businessmen to widen the road. Both the ways the Politictian, Corrupt Government Official and Unethical Businessmen benefit.

I dont think now Hanuman motors would have any explantation to give, because they know they are on the wrong side and have done an illegal construction.

The only way we as citizens can oppose it not buy any cars from Hanuman Motors. This is what Gandhi Ji had done British rule by adopting Khadhi revolution.

And we should not elect these corrupt politicians back.
I have heard the same management is going to come out some Apartment Constructions. I am not sure how un ethical businessmen can be trusted. The Apartments might be demolished in future for illegal construction . So we need to be careful while dealing with these sort of Businessment. They run to a place wherever they find money. So we should not turst and buy thier apartments as you said V S Pai.
I visit this place for servicing of my car. people are good and nice. hats off to Prashanth. very nice man and knows how to deal with the vehicle problems. Laxman Kulal is also good. keep up the good work.
I had done my servicing at Hanuman Motors. I have a second hand Tata Indigo. I have now totaly lost faith in their managament. The servicing is very bad and the management is not trustworthy. Its very expensive too.
The servicing is expensive and pathetic. Please dont go there.
I am a customer who regularly visit this place for servicing of my car. I heard that now the management has been changed and the new manager wants to push out Mr.Prashanth, who is one of the best and trustworthy mechanic there. please dont do that. one more thing is you people are charging too much unnecessorily. kindly check on it. once again the request to retain Mr.Prashanth. please dont charge him with unwanted remarks. Hats off to Mr.Prashanth. We are all with you.
what others pointed out is really true. the place is relly lousy. it doesnt look like show room. it looks like tile factory. i dont know how they approved the place for a show room. it is really shame to tata motos. please shift it to highway side. kindly learn from maruti abharan motors. it is really disgusting to reach that place. too much they charge for every thing. please look into the bill when you produce it to the customer. the old bus garage has been converted to show room. wah wah...it is really a great fun. dont look at only profit & money, shift as quickly as poosible near the highway side. one small shed has been recently opened with the board hanuman motors. what is this? kindly dont do such things. if you people want to go ahead please open one decent show room and try to compete with abharan motors (i dont think that is posible for you people). still try that is my advise. try to come up in business. already public are under the impression that tata cars are dubba cars and please dont give scope for people to add some more misery into it. try OK. good luck.

The BJP MLA did a favour to Hanuman Motors as the owners of this showroom are supporters of BJP. This is corruption at highest level. The Showroom needs to be demolished.
Hunuman motors has worst management we can see by how they offer service to their custumers.These people never change.i feel there is a loby behind sanctioning show room to TATA
I totally agree with this complaint regarding the test drive of the Safari. I was in the showroom at the time when all the drama was happening. The showroom staff was treating those two boys in a very indecent manner.
Hanuman motors has the worst management ever experienced by me since i have visited many car showrooms all across mangalore and Udupi.
Customers, please beware. Do not deal with these people. They provide their best services only till the delivery is done and not after that.
I think most of these comments have been written out of malice, spite and jealousy. I think Hanuman Motors has done very well in short span.Service is also very good
I agree with Gayathri, i have visited number of showrooms but i havent seen the owner himself interacting with the customers . We should learn from him how to deal with customers grievances with patience and satisfy them, HATS OFF TO MR. VILAS NAYAK!!!
