[Resolved]  HCL Technologies — Unwanted Layoff

I was asked to resign as was on bench for some time, I refused to do so. But to my surprise after some days my relieving was done without my resignation.

This is unethical and HCL Technolgoies CEO Vineet Nayar should be dragged to court, for false implication of not firing employees. Whereas they are chucking them out in heaps every month.

Bcz u r not getting offer from outside. I think u only know YES BOSS.
HCL is firing people not for poor rating/attitude., I have seen people having good technical stuff and good rating fired by hcl.

Even i too faced same condition.

Suddenly without any official notice i was asked to resign on comulsion by HR's instead of layoff.

I had no way to go except signing for resignation..
Join HCL i[censored] have no other option!!

They are not at all the No:1 employer, must have bribed the agency.

Yes they do excercise their muscle power .
Maiming, Intimiddating, issuing veiled threats etc. is slowly becoming
commonplace practice here in HCL.
HCL sucks to the core. They make the agents to work like hell and they give very low incentives. HCL is "THE WORST" company in the world.
hcl is wrost company in the word.They can fire you anytime without any reason...
Employee Last Organisation
Currently HCL Technologies fired 10, 000 employees . They don't have new work and there is no job security . they are firing without any reason because some projects are gone . Please don't join HCL .

New policies are being implemented at HCL in Performance appraisal in which managers will rate at least one person with Below Expectation(Now called as Needs Improvement) which is being used as one reason to fire people out of HCL when project is closed and resource is moved to Bench.

HCL is Hell which extracts works from employee till his/her bones are coming out of the body and Finally will get a call from HR...Please leave the company, Next week someday is your last working day and we will award you Basic pay of current month.

Please Think before joining HCL Technologies...No. 1 Employer and Employee First are just the Books which is being to used to attract everyone and to make some money which is best selling.

IN HCL There is no proper Management.who ever go will be the pet of their managers they only get the nice positions& they will be in onsite & in appraisal they are outstanding employers, Working people are in Below Meets Expectation & They Needs Improvement.

For Working people they is no growth only thing is to they have to work like a donkey!!!only the smart fluttering felows can live in HCL...

MY only advice for HCL:HCL will be in a NO.1 position only if they remove the senior resources who are not working properly & irresponsible at their own works & who are thinking HCL is like a Goverment job...who is there to question them..

PLease please remove the Senior fellows who are sitting in their seats & dreaming & not at all doing their JOB properly!!!
In HCL SAP Circle, Many employees are being forced to resign. This happened in Chennai and Hyderabad regions. The new SAP Axon management dont know what they are doing and recruited several people and stuck without any projects now. NEVER ever join HCL in SAP, You may be fired as per their need and they will do a big cover up.
HCL is a good company.Gus please dont belive this.
I am a current employee of HCL tech ltd. worst than any thing.

1. appraisal 2012 .. it shows 8% avg. hike and high growth rates ... only 3.2% for a 1.7 year exp employee even if he was rated as top 25% of employees and cuts his performance bonus by 50% which was part of his CTC.

2. Even after struggle and asking here and there if some one goes to HR for some policy related query.. get ready to die coz of old age.. they will never answer you.

3. EFCS .. biggest joke some one can imagine ..it really means -> employee u will be 1st to be drilled in any case.

4. hard working, late night staying, work on weekends is the forced culture. if employee objects in late night work, late stay or come on weekend ..be ready to be humiliated next day

5. Newly refined appraisal system (NEW NEW NEW) - 2013
if employee is in top 10% he will get hiked salary from august 2013 and 100% perf bonus (part of previous CTC) ( for manager level and HRs)

if employee is in 10%-20% he will get hiked salary from October 2013 80% perf bonus (part of previous CTC) ( for project leads and some onsite employed people)

if employee is in 20%-40% he will get hiked salary from January 2013 50% perf bonus (part of previous CTC) ( for rest of hard working people who don't ask questions )

what the hell is this ?? i[censored] being rated R3-R4 ( mostly coz u a fresher ) forget to get raise more than 800 rs per month ..and it will be regulate after 5-6 months of appraisal closing.

a suggestion for new freshers ..don't not opt for HCL tech. please don't spoil your career .
HCL Technology is not a company, It's a jail where we everyone is kaidi .Employes are treated like a donkey here.Senior Manager are most stupid people who don't know how to treat people.
Well I would like to add that as an insider I have seen that company is good for people who can be YES BOSS. They will be given promotions, hikes & onsite positions.
People at top think that if project is doing good then its manager & if its doing bad then its employees. The new capability structure also sucks. Everyone in the organisation knows that there is hardly any interaction between developee & DM, then how can capability or DM rate the person for his yearly performance. There is no regular feedback where an emplyee can improve, but during I4, all negative feedbacks will be given.
HR is another department where they themself get promoted almost every other year & when it comes to other employees, they have all sorts of rule/policies. For HR department KRA, they will put pressure on employee that if certain thing is not done, then employee rating in I4 will be reduced.
Its same as Congress, do whatever you want.
When you guys did not have a job and attended interviews (campus or external), we gave a job... After sometime, when you people start to show attitude and wont work, then there is no option other than firing..

A company gets projects and you guys work and generate revenue which will come as your salary... You guys do not want to work, but wanted hike??? This is non sense.

HCL employs more than 90, 000 employees and more than 6 Lakh people have increased their life style by the salary they draw from HCL.
Whoever posted negative here has attitue issues and you will feel, the same situation all through your life and will suffer similar treatment in any companies you go.

Mr. Grub, thats the irony of India with so much of population, people tend to accept whatever is available. But, company should not be taking undue advantage. Tell me one thing, why HR gets so many promotions when there are so many people leaving which means employees are not happy, why was capability created, are all DMs following the capability guidelines (not even 10%). When a person is getting good feedback means he/she is working good. But, the same is not being rewarded, so its not the question of so called attitude. So, if he/she is expecting hike, there is no non sense. Even the salary at onsite is also based on the links you have in capability/project management, there is no fix matrix. So, does that also show my attitude. I am really feeling sorry for you for not accepting the ground reality. Thats the reason, I left HCL after working for 6 years which is more than your tenure. When I started with HCL, there was value for employees, but now its being controlled by individuals who just think about their individual benefits rather than project or other employees. Thanks for showing concern for me for my future associations, but I am happy with what I am getting now.
I can feel you are true employee & may be at good position, so I would suggest that please understand ground level issues & discuss with HR to resolve them so that HCL can be what it was few years back, an employee friendly organisation. And, yes just scrap this capability thing as its doing no good to employees.
You should be lucky that you got away from HCL. Vineet Nayar is no longer the CEO. You cannot drag anyone in court. It is unethical but you cannot fight with them as the company is in a really bad position. Mostly high paid managers sitting here since 10-15 years arent leaving as they are useless in the IT world outside of HCL.
Others are working in crap jobs as they too did not get good hands on experience to get new jobs. Notice period is soo high that people are actually losing job offers due to this.
