[Resolved]  ICFAI — Want to file Case against ICFAI

Dear All,
I ( Manasi Mahadik- Mumbai )have received the Legal Notice from HIFCO Marwel Limited for dishonor of Cheques.

On November 23rd 2006, I had written an email to ICFAI stating want to discontinue the MBA couse and requested not to deposit PDC's in the A/C, but still they deposited all the cheques in the Bank which got Bounced, as I had made stop payment for the same.

Today after 21 months I have received the Legal Notice from Hifco Marwel to present in the Hyderabad Court or seviour legal action will be taken.

As I have already Intimated the University for Cancellation of Registration and non persuaing of the couse, still they are harassing me through Hifco Marwel Limited by sending Legal Notices.

If now I have to discontineu the couse I have to pay the entire Course fee which is injustice to me. I dont know how Hifco Marwel Came to the Picture where The Registration has done with ICFAI.

I think ICFAI is more Interested in Extracting Money from the Students even though they dont wish to persue the Couse, by threating to take legal actions against them. I have gone through various sites where too many students are also suffering from the same Issues.

I hope all students like me get the Justice.

I (Sanchit Singhal - Delhi ) have received the threat of Legal Notice from HIFCO Marwel Limited (now PHOTON CAPITAL ADVISORS LTD.) for dishonor of Cheques.
I had taken admission in CFA course in May 2008. My Enrolment Number was[protected]. I had already paid the initial payment of Rs.15000 and first installment of Rs.5250. However, I had requested them to dsicontinue the CFA course (due to some personal problems) much before the classes have started.
On July 25th 2008, I had written an email to ICFAI stating want to discontinue the CFA course and requested not to deposit PDC's in the A/C, but still they deposited all the cheques in the Bank which got Bounced, as I had made stop payment for the same.

Today, I have received a letter of threat for Legal Notice from Hifco Marwel to pay the pending amount or seviour legal action will be taken.

As I have already intimated the University for Cancellation of Registration and non persuaing of the couse, still they are harassing me through Hifco Marwel Limited by sending Legal Notices.

If now, even i want to discontinue the couse, i have to pay the entire Course fee which is injustice to me. I dont know, how Hifco Marwel came to the Picture where The Registration has done with ICFAI.

I think ICFAI is more Interested in Extracting Money from the Students even though they dont wish to persue the Couse, by threating to take legal actions against them. I have gone through various sites where too many students are also suffering from the same Issues. I have also seen the similar case of 'Mansi Mahadik' from mumbai, where she got justice in the end by your help.

I hope all students like me get the Justice.

Hifco Marwel Limited is collection agents appointed by ICFAI, they are the goons and they will threat you to get the money, if you have a copy of your mail about the cancellation, they cannot do anything. You dont have to worry.

Hi Dinesh & Ankur! Generally every organization follows certain rules and regulations. From your statement it seems that Icfai University offers the EMI facility to its students who opt for it. So, after availing this facility from the University, naturally it becomes obligatory on your part to clear the EMI in time as agreed. I think you should approach the Institute with your justification for withdrawal. Sure, the justification shall clinch the solution to the problem.

the person who suggest to aproach to icfai and say to clear the EMI is also frod like icfai.

Hi Deo Kumar!

You may be knowing from your experience that Every University/Institute charges the full amount of the program fee to the student at the outset. From your writing, it is clear that you are availing EMI facility for the program that you are pursuing from ICFAI University. By extending this facility, the University is doing a very good service to its students who find it difficult to pay the full amount in lump sum. Had you paid the full program fee in the beginning and after that wanted to withdraw from the program, what would you have done because no University/Institute refunds the amount paid. Here I will advise you to clear the EMIs and continue with the program. Or if you have very genuine problems to withdraw from the program, you can definitely project directly to them. Why don’t you approach the Arbitrator?

my name is G.R.S MANI & I from Tamil Nadu. Iam studying PGDCT from on
of the new instute named T- JOP. the problem is that, when we joined to
this instute they said you have to pay 13, 400 for a year its mean monthly
Rs 450. after 6months thay are saying we have to pay Rs 550 + 40( as a
tax) to the instute.all the student who sined the registration form, this
condution was not written as earlier when we registered, its totaly
cheating, its not only for me its to all student from tamil nadu who were
studying in this instute. there more than 5000 students are studying with
different subjects like PGDCA, HDCA,
ADCA, etc., in some subjects they incresed RS 300 from thair actual amount.
pls help me what i have to do? or from whare did we get our justice pls

Consequences : There are many student from rural are from tamil nadu its
not possible to them to pay this amount of fees & they cannot leave
the instate because already 6 months has been past now we all need our
certificate. This is check mate from t-jop to all our student pls help us

My name is putts from bangalore. I need help related to this icfai harasment..

I enroled for MBA course on 18 installments process, & paied 9 installments..
Now I am not intrested to continue the course due to job condition/reccesion, so I blocked remaining cheques. & mailed to [protected]@icfa. Now icfai ( now some one mediater called Python adv, ) have sending legal notices...
I dont want to continue d course...

I have the same experience all other ICFAI students have. I have joined in ICFAI 2007 july in their Kasaragod branch, kerala. We didnt get any services they offered.We had no training class.When we complained it they kept mum at last their office shut down now !!!. Much hidden fees they have.

I discontinued my Icfai MBA because of their bad service and I stopped EMI. Now they harrasing me in the name of that!! .

I am also facing the problem with the ICFAI university. Now they are saying that they are ready for the settlement. And asking me how much amount you can pay for the final settlement.

They have filed a case against me in Hydrabad in Lok Adalat. Now Lok adalat had given a time to ICFAI and me to settle the matter outside the court without going to session court. And this case is flied for bouncing of cheques.

Can be form a group and file a case against them. I am sure we can win this battle.

The university is not recongnized by the UDCT and AICTE also.

I too want to make a legal move against ICFAI in Karnataka. I enrolled for MCA (Dist. Learning) which is later known to be not approved. Please let me know if some has already made any appeal to Karnataka courts.

I need a help, I have discontinue the BCA course from ICFAI univercity after 2 month admission, I have already lost Rs 9, 000 at admission time and i have stop the Payment of Cheque, and also send mail to them “don't put Cheque in my a/c i want to discontinue course”, But they have not stop and send legal Notice and harassing me . Today i received a notice, They have filed case against me. Pls advise me what should i do?

I am very much agree with the ICFAI misguided the students. Once you take the admission they hardly listen to the student. In my case, I am a working professional and I took my admission in MBA program in ICFAI. While taking my admission I have said my condition to the ICFAI representative about my timing problem and said that I will not have a time more than 2hr on any day, will take my class. if ICFAI is having such a time for me then I am ready to take the admission, and the ICFAI person agreed that we give only two hour class. but when I joined my class, the durations went to 2 to 4, 6 and sometimes 7 to 8hr.

After having word regarding my concern they said write a mail to Rooma Thore, then Rooma said write a mail to Deepa, then the process goes to RSM level person but still I am for the value of my hard earnd money. After so many emails, there is no solutions..

They are not ready refund my money and nor arranging my durations of class, on which they agreed and taken my admission.

I urge all the student that if any University is in such a practice convey this issues to them..as their classes quality is also poor.

And pls go to the Consumer Forum with all the docs so that they will learn their lesson...

Strategical planning of Icfai: How to exploit the Distance learning MBA students.

1. Marketing executives are highly paid and well trained how to attract the students by any means, example- today is the last day or yesterday was last but I will manage it, do not worry, your admission will be in back date. A lot of cock & bull stories they will say, as they have been trained by the Adm staff of Icfai. Incentives of Marketing people are direct 20%. Even they used to pay initially for you Rs10000/-.( But behind this master mind works- to catch hold the student) Ready cash university pays to marketing people to do such drama while attracting the students.

2. Icfai wants students like-take admission, pay the money, pay the PDC cheques, forget after wards.

3. Take admission. Appear the first semistar . Pass it any how . Find maximum 99% passing the exam.
See the drama from second semistar. Carry on failing. Register by paying Rs1000/-. Get yourself failed.
If students will pass then where from the income will come? Every University has Two semistars, but this fake University has Four semistars, reason behind, to extract money from the students. If some one workout properly, then will come to know.
I[censored]niversity has 2, 80, 000 students, roughly minimum 1, 00, 000 register in each semister by payingRs1000/-.
Rs1000 X 1, 00, 000 =10, 00, 00, 000 (Ten Crores) X 4 Semistars = 40, 00, 00, 000 ( Forty Crores)
This much amount is verry attractive. But originally the income is more .
So if the students will pass then how the income will generate. Students take admission to increase the funds o[censored]niversity not to build the career. How the mastermind warks to suck the blood of poors.

4. Purposefully the students will be declared pass in 1St semistar, then drama starts of failing.But University declares as It gives quality studies so result is less. But this is an eye wash only. once they don't have studies, how one will expect result.

5. The fake University has a verry good fraud plans, which the students experience in due course. Only money money.


The sources have been extracted from some Ex-employs of the University who some time repent for their misdids of past while working for the fake University. These people should be behind the bars.
